July 12, 201510 yr Ok guys first of all I would like to thanks the advice of arjenfsx and pcubine for providing invaluable advice and thanks to them I now have no graphic problems when flying the MD-11 Sadly I came to another problem and it started about 5 days ago. Whenever I launch FSX I get a message saying: Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third-party software program (add-on): Name: PMDGOptions Dynamic Link Library Version: 10,0,61355,62 Company: <Unknown> File: PMDG\DLLs\PMDGOptions.dll Do you want to run this software (not recommended)? To avoid seeing this message in the future, uninstall this program or disable its ability to start when running flight simulator. For more information about third-party programs, contact the publisher or see http:\www.fsinsider.com. And when I click yes then FSX crashes. I never had this problem before I just cant believe I have another problem. Anyways if anyone can give me info on how to fix this issue I would appreciate it. And yes I did try to repair and even re-installed it with the .exe that came with it. And no this is NOT a pirated version because I purchased this about 4 years ago with PMDG from their website.
July 12, 201510 yr think the solution in the other thread was just keeping clicking yes and eventually it will work, I had a similar issue like yours keep saying yes and about the 4th time it worked The link below is of a similar issues like yourshttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/418528-pmdg-777-raas-crashing-fsx-on-startup/page-5 I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
July 12, 201510 yr Author Ok so do I click yes and FSX crashes. So I just keep clicking yes until it goes away, how will I know?
July 12, 201510 yr Ok so do I click yes and FSX crashes. So I just keep clicking yes until it goes away, how will I know?If FSX crashes when you click yes you need to delete the reference to the problem DLL in fsx.cfg. Then restart FSX and select ok and yes as appropriate. That usually corrects things.
July 12, 201510 yr May I ask you Kevin ; what is the name of this software that does lead to thus crash ? many thanks for your response in advance. ALPER S.
July 12, 201510 yr May I ask you Kevin ; what is the name of this software that does lead to thus crash ? many thanks for your response in advance. It can be anything that has been installed in FSX. When you load FSX it will tell you what program it found problem with. Locate that DLL name in fsx.cfg and delete the line or lines involved. FSX can then re-establish it's links to it correctly next time it is loaded.
July 12, 201510 yr It may be worth checking this: Open regedit Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers Delete the key "C:\\Games\\FSX\\fsx.exe"="$~ RUNASADMIN IgnoreFreeLibrary<PMDGOptions.dll>" obviously changing the underlined text to be your flight sim version and its location. Best wishes Steve Stephen Munn
July 12, 201510 yr Author I went to both FSX.cfg files and deleted both reference to the pmdgoptions.dll in the trusted section. I started fsx and it asked me permission to run it and I said yes. After that it crashed and it keeps crashing every time I start it. Maybe someone can give me the .dll that works? Could have been corrupted
July 12, 201510 yr Hi Marc, with some bad luck, you may have run into this problem: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/68382-fsx-fails-to-run-after-fsuipc4-first-installed/ I had that two months ago and despite trying to restart FSX about 300 times it never went away. As a consequence, I decided to move on to P3D ... Good luck, Peter
July 12, 201510 yr Author It ONLY happens with the PMDG Dll maybe someone could send me another dll of this type. I believe the file may have gotten corrupted somehow. One thing i noticed was it started sometime after I installed a couple aircraft most notably the sky sim dc-9
