July 12, 201510 yr Hi Maarten, I am trying to filter aircraft so that all Microsoft aircraft do not show up in the tiles option. I've tried filtering by manufacturer and by ratings with Microsoft aircraft having no stars. It works when I enter and apply filters, but when I re-enter the program, the filters no longer apply and I have to filter them again. Is there some way I can permanently filter out Microsoft aircraft from the tiles option? Regards, Gerry
July 12, 201510 yr Heya Gerry, I just created a folder called Unused Aircraft in the Simobjects\Aircraft folder and put the models there. They become invisible to SimLauncherX (which I use all the time - a TERRIFIC add-on). Some people get riled up about this procedure, but it has never been a problem for me. And if you find that you need the C208 sound file or other default resource, you know where it is. July 12, 201510 yr Hi Gerry, Persisting the filtering of the aircraft list unfortunately doesn't work very well together with the tile view component. I've tried several times, but it's an issue with the UI element virtualization technique that is used by the third party software I use. Turning off the virtualization is no option because it will then take a very long time to build up the list. The best thing to do is what John said above. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
July 12, 201510 yr Author Thanks John and Maarten, but I need the Microsoft aircraft for AI traffic using WOAL. Regards, Gerry
July 12, 201510 yr Hi Gerry, In that case, just rename the panel.cfg file in the aircraft folder to something else. SLX will still include the aircraft in the database, but marks it as AI. The aircraft will then still be shown on the map if you have the AI Traffic overlay enabled, but it will not show up in the aircraft list. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
July 12, 201510 yr Author Hi Maarten, I renamed the panel.cfg files and that removed the unwanted aircraft from the tiles option. However, the tiles and list options contain the AugustaWestland and Bell rotorcrafts that are not in my SimObject/Airplane folder. I deleted the rotorcraft a long time ago but they show up in the fsx aircraft database indicated in SimLauncherX. When I'm in FSX and use the select aircraft, the rotorcraft do not appear as a choice. Is there anyway I can check the FSX database for aircraft to remove the unwanted rotocraft? Thanks, Gerry
July 12, 201510 yr Hi Gerry, SLX looks for aircraft in the folders that are entered as SimObjectPath.x in the [Main] section of your fsx.cfg file. The two helicopters are probably in the SimObjects\RotorCraft folder. If you don't need them, just delete the folder entry in the fsx.cfg file. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
August 3, 201510 yr Hi Maarten ! Do not know where to post my question. So I do it here. SimLauncher shows my MyTraffic planes as Cessnas or Learjets, although I can see them in front of me and see that it is a Boeing or Airbus.I did a rebuilt of the P3Dv2.5 database after installing MyTraffic 6.Any ideas? Scott
August 14, 201510 yr Hi Maarten ! Another question.Would it be possible to show also the Addon - AI ships on the map? Scott
August 20, 201510 yr Hi Scott, Sorry for the late reply: sometimes the forum system fails to send a notification. Refering to your question about the MyTraffic aircraft: can you please send me both your %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\scenery.cfg file and the %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\simobjects.cfg file (e-mail address is on the front page of the user guide)? Refering to your question about AI ships: that is possible; I will see if I have the time this weekend. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
August 21, 201510 yr Hi Scott, AI ships (boats as they are called in the FSX/Prepar3D SDK) have been included in the latest version. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
August 22, 201510 yr Thank you very much Maarten !!! If only half of all Payware publishers would offer a support like you do,that would be great..Absolutely brilliant !!! Thanks again. Scott
November 11, 201510 yr Author In that case, just rename the panel.cfg file in the aircraft folder to something else. SLX will still include the aircraft in the database, but marks it as AI. If you don't need them, just delete the folder entry in the fsx.cfg file. thanks, Maarten Hi Maarten, I followed your advice earlier and was successful in eliminating Microsoft aircraft and the helicopters from the tile list. However, several updates ago, the Microsoft planes and helicopters began to appear again in the tile list. Has there been a change to the criteria of selecting aircraft in the tile list? If so, how can I eliminate them again? Regards, Gerry
November 12, 201510 yr Hi Gerry, I haven't changed anything in that area: I look for a panel.cfg file in the folder of the aircraft.cfg file and in all subfolders of that folder; if a panel.cfg file is found, the aircraft is considered to be a flyable aircraft, otherwise it's marked as an AI aircraft and will not appear in the Aircraft window. I will test it again, but can you also try to rebuild the database (aircraft only)? thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
