Flaps "x". Match Speed

Featured Replies

I was hand flying an Approach and called for flaps 5 then match speed. Flaps came down but he only matched the speed I was currently at not the bugged flaps 5 speed.

Am I not understanding this procedure? My understanding is he is supposed to bug the flaps speed.

Autopilot and auto throttle was disconnected.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Sean,

Was your FMC setup in full?

FS2Crew reads weights from the FMC, and uses that info to compute bug speeds.

Also, note that bug speeds are not directly available via the SDK.

We had to create a our own bug speeds based on available charts.  They don't always match the PMDG bug speeds exactly, sometimes they're off by a few knots.

Hello,

Have you called flaps 5... then later match speed, or flaps 5 match speed in a raw?

I have noticed that when both are speech one after the other with no blank in between, it works like a charm. But if you leave a space in between, then it treats both as separated and then  match speed commands the actual speed instead of the flap speed.
