Odd pulsing in and out view.

Recommended Posts

Making a flight with Track IR on, EZCA on and ASN on.

I can be flying along and all of a sudden the cockpit will start pulsing closer and further away from my eyes till it gets out of control then bam, black screen but I can only see myself in spot plane view.

This happens rarely but now it's happening all day today on the same flight from 42AK to PARY in A2A's Comanche with the GTN 750.

It has been happening 45 minutes into the flight.  It doesn't crash the sim.  I can get spot plane view all I want but when I try inside views I get them only for a split second before the screen goes black.  The plane keeps flying.

I made this same flight yesterday in the opposite direction with ASN on, Track IR on, and EZCA on with no problems.  It is frustrating and baffling.

I hope my FSX isn't beyond repair.

hypoxia ?

Yeah, hypoxia.  That's the ticket.  I have my room where I fly FSX set to above 10,000 feet and no oxygen.

Yes, my bust you're right.  It IS hypoxia.

I lowered my altitude and sure enough I get my views back WITHOUT EZCA or Track IR running!  It's A2A!

Thanks.

Yes we model Hypoxia as you go up so certainly be careful as you fly.

Thanks Lewis, I LOVE your products and SCOUR your manuals when I buy a plane but I do not remember reading anywhere about hypoxia. It makes perfect sense. But dang, I was going crazy.

Talk about realism. You guys are the masters of GA planes, bar none!

This will help now.

Wow!  I'll have to file this away for future reference.

You ought to try it. At first the screen moves slowly back and forward. Then more rapidly. And finally the screen goes black. Buuuut, when you're blacked out you lose all controls too, you can't control engine or flight controls. So if you're on A/P basically what will happen is what unfortunately happened to Payne Stuart the golfer several years ago. But if you catch it in time you can recover if you descend fast enough. They were pretty clever at A2A. I thought my PC was messing up.

Thanks guys glad you are liking the simulation, remember for those moments when you just want to get up and fly withou worrying about a pre-flight etc just use the shift + 3 DAMAGE button to turn it all on or off. Perfect for when the kids are taking a nap and have time for a quick 15min flight! ^_^

cheers,

Lewis
