A little gem

Featured Replies

Hi, I surf sometimes to the library "What is new" and discovered today a little gem of Kevin Lechmanski: the "Christen Eagle II" with fluent instruments in the VC. Thank you Kevin for this marvelous freeware!hm

Thanks for the heads up, I own the Payware Pureflight Pitts ultimateand this freeware Chrisen eagle II is a nicer package in my opinionThats not to say the Pureflight is not good , but this freeware planehas a better VC and more fluid gauges.

It is great! Im not surprised though. LIC has put out some other great planes. This one is great fun. Flew it for about 2 hours this morning from Shez's great KBUR airport! Neat stuff.Eric

A-ha, this appears to be (unless I'm mistaken) the first freeware plane to incorporate the type of guages used by RealAir in their Spitfire and SF-260. This is an awesomely fun bird to throw around the sky. Excellent stuff... :)

Downloading it now. When I was a kid I saw an airshow performance team using Christen Eagles. The show was a little ahead of the time schedule and one of the pilots asked permission to stay up a little longer. He said he felt good that day. He spent the next ten minutes doing things in that airplane I didn't know could be done in one. Heck of a show. I've loved this little airplane ever since.

This is, indeed, another big winner from Kevin and LIC. Very interesting perspective flying it from the back seat with the instruments in the front, but it's not hard to work with. The gauges are spectacular, glass-smooth, and the plane is REALLY fun to go up and sling around doing some acro. Now if I can just figure out how to land it...can't see a thing over that long nose!Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

Simply "AWESOME FUN" for freeware and matches the RealAir gauges!!! :-) VC only which I'm happy about as well!Carmine http://forums.avsim.net/images/wave.gif

Thanks for the heads up! I have a little over 20 hours or so in one and have been waiting for a CE to show up. And a nice one. Its been a long time but I do not remember it being so forgiving but overall they did a great job. I know I was always soaking wet with sweat after a flight. Thanks to the designers for sharing it with us.
