September 9, 201510 yr Nice build !!! :-) Still waiting for the release of the i7 6700K here in Canada. Estimated to be around Oct 2-4 :-( I have already purchased my other new parts due to signs of early shortages. Bought a new Refine S case, Corsair H110i GT water cooler, Noctua CPU Fans , ASUS Republic Of Gamers VIII Hero mobo, 2 X 8gb GSkill Ripjaw V 3000mhz ddr4 memory, to go with my 2 x EVGA 970 GTX SC graphics cards. Happy to see your OC has been successful. Cheers Steve
September 9, 201510 yr Now if only FSX didn't crash so often on Win 10... Fsuipc CTDs and display CTDs already searching for diff drivers ughh If you are having CTD's try turning your overclock down and see if they disappear. I had .dll errors causing hangs on P3D at 4.7Ghz which cleared at 4.6Ghz. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
September 9, 201510 yr Author Good news re 5 way optimization Angelo, nice to know that asus auto rules are doing the trick. Did you use the 5 way optimization limiting feature, whereby you can set a max temperature, voltage or frequency, or did you just let it do it's thing unimpeded? Which Noctua fans did you install on your cooler? Was it the NF-F12's? They are the NF-12s and I let the process flow without restrictions. I am quite happy with it! I am noticing some "Clock_Watchdog_Timeout_Error" very occasionally. i assume it has something to do with the OC, IDK if it requires more volts, or some odd reason becuz stress tests run through fine. September 10, 201510 yr Clock_Watchdog_Timeout_Error... Bug Check 101 can be lack of voltage. As you are overclocking that could be the cause. Nudge the vcore up a tad. I would make sure you update the BIOS. New boards often get numerous updates initially.
September 14, 201510 yr Where did you get your 6700? I haven't found a single one around here, except for Japanese "imports" selling for around $500+. James David Walley Ryzen 7 7700X, 32 GB, RTX 3080
September 14, 201510 yr Author I got mine at Microcenter in Tustin California. The sales guy called me when the truck came in with those on it. They sold out within days though.
