August 16, 200520 yr I'm looking for smaller aircraft that are used as cargo carriers. Feelthere is working on the earlier 737s, hopefully they will make a freighter version. Anyway, what about a Falcon20C, Lear 25/35, Beech C99, etc? With all the bells and whistles, dynamic virtual cockpit, etc. The PMDG 1900C is nice, but only with basic systems which leaves it lacking when I fly it then go for something like the LDS or PMDG 737s, 747s. Same problem with the feelthere Cessna 208, great airplane, lots of fun, but basic system functionality...Are there any payware aircraft out there in the future that will satisfy my requirements?
August 16, 200520 yr I'm not sure about payware, but most cargo virtual airlines (MAXFREIGHT (cough cough)), and, I think, UPS and FedEx have a bevy of props and turboprops repaints for Cargo. StevenMAX3BFI HUB CAPTAINMaxFreight Virtual Airlines
August 16, 200520 yr Yeah the DF727 is awesome, but I'm looking for something smaller. If someone made a quality metro with a VC that would be excellent, or an EMB120 with a freighter version... I guess it's just a dream as the market is so small
August 16, 200520 yr OSS is doing an EMB-120, though not sure if the trashhauler is in the cards...Erick Cantu is doing the model, not sure who is doing the panel...It's supposed to have all the bells/whistles you look for(If you want)Orignally the deal is if you just want the aircraft its a freebie, if you want all the bells/whistles of the VC and panel then it costs. Not sure if that plan still stands.http://www.fsatcn.com/forums/index.php?showforum=15:-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpgThere is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".- unknown"My daddy gives me up, to fight for you"- a US Military Members Child
August 16, 200520 yr Have you looked at the Flight1 Pilatus PC12?It comes in a cargo version and is a great plane to fly.. Bert
August 16, 200520 yr AlexThere are some examples out there but most fall short in the "complexity" arena when u try to compare them with a DF737, DF727, LD767 etc. So with that said u may want to take a look/see at Shupe's Dash7, Howard 500 or his recently released BE18.However I highly recommend the AFG NAMC YS-11. I'm a retired military/commercial pilot and when I have to drag cargo around for my VA, which is quite often, I will strap on the YS-11 on any short to mid rge haul. In fact I've been flying the acft for the last 2 weeks all over the Philippines & have 3 wks sked with her in Thailand. (The acft has been retired by most carriers but is still found on a lot of runs in the Pacific Rim/SE Asia area). The acft is pretty complex and I doubt if u'll climb right in, light the fires and zoom off without some careful reading of the manual. But once u have this baby mastered u'll never look back! Try her out.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124825.jpg
August 16, 200520 yr Thanks for the YS-11 suggestion, where can I find some real cargo repaints for it? And does it have a VC?
August 16, 200520 yr Hi Big_Al,I would look into the Dreamfleet ATR-500 ... very awesome aircraft and there are some freight liveries for it ... FedEx I believe and maybe more. You probably have it already ... but just in case ... this one is well worth the $$$ ... very detailed, real FMC, nice VC although I don't use it, and I believe in real life the ATR is used by many short hop freight airlines for feeder operations.Cheers, and
August 16, 200520 yr What you could do is use one of the smaller complex aircraft (like the DF737 etc....) and pretend it's a freighter. Have someone do a freight paint job for you to complete the illusion.
August 16, 200520 yr Oh it has a VC alright! [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
August 16, 200520 yr Hey, how about the Metroliner III - think there's a cargo version of that. Not sure about VC there. [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
August 16, 200520 yr Still think the PC12 might be the ticket..http://www.flight1software.com/showcase/pc12/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124827.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124828.jpg Bert
August 16, 200520 yr Or, alternately, have you considered spiffing up your B1900C??Adding some Reality XP avionics makes this quite the sophisticated aircraft..http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124829.jpg Bert
