Heathrow Pro

Featured Replies

I have the London Airports Series from Gary Summons of UK2000. I am wondering how much of an improvement Heathrow Pro is ove the current Version of Heathrow from the bundle I already own. I have seen plenty of screenshots and they do look good but I wanted to get some opinions of the difference if anbody has any.ThanksAndrew

heathrow pro looks great but is a fps hitter....even V2, not much improvement over V1 as far as fps. But it looks very good and is very detailed.

Yep, exactly as Spooky says. Great eye candy but frame rates in the cellar. Not practical unless you have a top machine and fly default (or RealAir) aircraft. I get 10-15 fps with my rig.Cheers,N.

Yes it runs about 18fps for me. I've got the thing racked up with about 150-200 AI Aircraft at all the gates. She just holds it together.

can anybody compare it to Sim Wings Charles DeGaulle? I have that and my system runs that fine with UT at 93%. I have to say 18fps is no problem, that many frames on both my laptop and desktop is very smooth. I top my FPS at 25 because anything above that I dont see a difference. Thanks Andrew

AndrewHeathrow Pro is a fabulous bit of scenery. For me, the new version has helped a lot with framerates. I get about 10 fps more in most situations (UT at 50 - 60%).I find it now works better than my Simflyers airports, which really do sap resources. But of course all you really need to do is download the demo and see how you get on. That way you'll know for certain.Ian

The V2 EGLL PRO makes a big improvement over the previous FPS hog version. I have it switched off at the moment as am flying FS around Denham and the scenery has an FPS hit on the area (NW of EGLL).Highly recommend V2Adam

Hi Andrew,I purchased both Heathrow pro and Charles de Gaulle about a month ago. IMO both are outstanding sceneries. Sometime I just enjoy taxing around the airports to admire the scenery and the detail they have put into each airport. As others have stated both are fps hungry. At least on my machine I would give CDG the nod on better fps, but not by much 1-2 fps. As you can see I do not have one of the faster computers but I am pleased with the result of each scenery. I normally can stay in double digits (10-18) taxing on the ground as long as I don

I would like to add two questions to this thread. What are our other options for Heathrow? What options are there for Gatwick and Mancester?I am buying Heathrow Pro tonight, I hope it doesn't kill my machine.Dennis MitchellAMD 64 4000+Asus MB2 gigs of OCZ EL DDR 400nvidia 6800 with 256mb of DDRPromise SATA RAID with Segate Barracudas

A good questionWhat are the good Heathrows and Gatwicks and how do they stack up againsy one another?Be very interested to know.Darren

I dont know of any other addon Heathrow sceneries apart from some rubbish ones made for FS2000.OSS make scenery for Gatwick but it's a right framerate hog on this machine (and the AFCAD never lined up properly)so I have removed it in favour of Gary's EGKK scenery.RegardsAdamFS9.1Win XPPrescott 3.20 GHz - 2GB RAMAsus ATi Radeon X800 Pro TD 256MBOmega Radeon ATI Drivers19" CRT 1600x1200 @ 100hzAudiophile 24/96 Audiohttp://www.hhukrecordings.co.uk

Anyone know how the UK2000 Gatwick or Manchester is for detail and framerates? Dennis

I have Garys Gatwick from London Airports package. I like it in general, not like much some ground textures, but that's my opinion. It's in line of Heathrow "Lite" not PRO. Not so heavy on fps, because it's small.Manchester I don't have it yet, only from Simflyers. In fps is comparable to Garys Gatwick, but heavier!CheersMiguel

Gary's Manchester scenery is excellent. Good detailing, so/so on the framerates really depends on how much AI you insist on having around!I get 15-25 FPS with 100% UT AI.Peter
