October 4, 201510 yr Hello, Every time i fly with the PMDG 777-200LR, FSX shut down after about 1h 1/2 of flight, sometimes before, sometimes after and that wherever i am in the world. I take a screen when it appears with the Process Explorer software runningYou can see that it's only 2.176.000 Virtual Size used, far of the 3.000.000 of the OOM bug. Any ideas ?? October 6, 201510 yr Any error messages? Any events in the Windows event viewer? Why do you suspect VAS memory issue? Dan Downs KCRP
October 6, 201510 yr Author No error messages, only (FSX is not responding) in the title bar of the simulator window.Suddenly, the simulator freeze and if i click on the windows, the screen becomes more white, as a haze was present and the simulator shut down.I suspect VAS memory issue because it's the most common problem encountered by people but if you have any other idea ...Gilles Menghetti
October 7, 201510 yr I suspect VAS memory issue because it's the most common problem encountered by people but if you have any other idea ... Why would you suspect a memory issue? If FSX runs out of memory, it is going to close and message will appear stating that you are out of memory and to restart FSX. It is not a memory issue if Process Explorer says you have only used 2.1GB of 3.0GB available. And BTW OOM is not a bug. The last time I saw a hazy screen and received not responding in the Task Manager I deleted the Logbook.BIN file. FSX will rebuild a new one. It contains pilot records. Back it up before you delete it. You can restore it if deletion does not work. Michael Cubine
October 7, 201510 yr I had this problemwhere FSX freezes randomly in flight, and fixed it by adding affinity mask to the fsx.cfg file To find out the best setting this is a good site: http://www.gatwick-fsg.org.uk/affinitymask.aspx?SubMenuItem=hardware David Lee
October 7, 201510 yr I agree with David, first suspicion is the FSX freeze. Lasts 5-8 min typically but can take 20 to unthaw. However, there will be an event recorded as an appHang in the event viewer, which is why I asked. Also, the appHang will not usually crash, it will just be in suspended animation until the thaw. Other problems that can result in white screen crash involved hardware failure. Time to look in the event viewer. Dan Downs KCRP
