I'm going to have to disagree. There is no noticeable gpu load increase with building autogen on max. There is, however a noticeable CPU load increase with building autogen. The performance difference with and without any setting other than off with regards to building autogen, is night and day.

The tweak is an old one and good for FSX/P3D1.x. It has no effect in  v2.x/v3.0 The Autogen, mainly trees AFAIK is controlled via the "AUTOGEN_BATCH_LOD=2" switch in the SCENERY section of the cfg. The lower the number the lower the LOD of the trees and vice versa. That is what Beau Hollis ones told me in the early days of v2.x. He warned me to go for LOD=1 as this is the most max value for trees per cell. Furthermore P3D2.x/3.0 still displays more autogen than FSX does.
