It didn't get created yet because no addon needed it yet. Goflight doesn't need the exe.xml

It needs to be in the exe.xml, like so

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>

<Launch.Addon>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Name>GoFlight Hardware Interface</Name>
    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GFDevFSX.exe</Path>
    <CommandLine>
    </CommandLine>
  </Launch.Addon>

</SimBase.Document>

Does the GFDevFSX.exe data bridge launch manually, if it does then run it via Fsuipc's run command.

If that won't work hopefully you've still got your Win7 DVD ?

I don't think GFconfig driver installer has been updated to add the entries for P3Dv3 yet.  So the exe.xml will not get updated.

If you use Goflight Interface Tool though it doesn't even need the data bridge to work, the data bridge is only needed if you use GF config to setup your controls.

also:

<Launch.Addon>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Name>GoFlight Hardware Interface</Name>
<Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GFDevP3D.exe</Path>
<CommandLine>
</CommandLine>
</Launch.Addon>

You do not want the GFDevFSX.exe unless you use FSX  -  it may work with the FSX version but not sure

Beyond the point of return regarding going back to Windows 7, so I'm wondering whether my format is incorrect or somehow EXE.XML has been misplaced.

Thanks,

Chas

Have you tried deleting the file and creating a new one with just the basics in there?

This is what an empty one should look like, your addons would go in the space above </SimBase.Document>

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>

</SimBase.Document>

EDIT: You need to use Notepad++ or something similar and save it as an .xml file so the encoding would be right if you are making it from scratch, I don't believe you can just use notepad.

I manually directed it to Prepar 3d v3 and doesnt work for me .

What else can I do?

If you go into the goflight folder on your harddrive you see a file called gfdevp3d.exe or somthing like that make a shortcut and place it on your desktop once you launch p3d click on the shortcut and launch the goflight program and it'll work
