Anyone got Goflight modules working yet?

Featured Replies

Dang it...My Go lfight modules were working nicely with my P3D V3 until yesterday.. I did nothing and it was working fine

Then today my Goflight interface tool for P3D stopped working... So I donwloaded the latest version and installed it still nothing.

Not sure what changed since yesterday and I notced there was MS Win 7  update that included a C++ runtime liberary that got updated inspite of my setup saying not to do auto update of Windows stuff

I tried restoring the system before these updates but it doesn't do it.

Sigh!

I uninstalled the latest and went back to the previous version which was working until today and got this error this morning... and I get this same issue now After putting the older version back.,

I loaded my old trusty FSX and the PMDG NGX and ran the GF  GoFlight PMDG Interface.exe

I hope that means compatibility with Windows 10 as well as P3Dv3.

--- Jim  ---

They already are Windows 10 compatible - I have been using the drivers with Windows 10 for months.

Downloaded version 2.26 and doesnt work for me.

Windows 7

Is that the latest version?

Beyond the point of return regarding going back to Windows 7, so I'm wondering whether my format is incorrect or somehow EXE.XML has been misplaced.

Thanks,

Chas

You should NEVER have anything under "Program Files (x86)" when it comes to FSX or P3D.  Install GoFlight in a it's own dir i.e. "D:\GoFlight" ... this will avoid any current and/or future security restrictions Microsoft decides is necessary.

The EXE.XML entry is needed unless you always have it launch externally or via FSUIPC or something else.

The entry should be GFDevP3D.exe not GFDevFSX.exe.

No issues with my GoFlight gear/modules (v2.26.0) and Steve's GIT 2.1.18.0 under P3D V3 ... don't know about Win10 (but Steve indicates no issues under Win10), my FS PCs are all Win7.

Cheers, Rob.

Turns out the Exe.xml would not execute unless I launch P3d shortcut, as an administrator ....then, good to go...finally...

Yes 2.26 is the latest version.

The installer elevates P3D and GFDevP3D to run as administrator - this is required for iFly 747 support. It needs a reboot after installation to work correctly and the installer prompts the user to do this.

If P3D is not run as administrator then GFDevP3D won't load and this is the cause of people having the issues. However all these requirements will be set automatically using the new drivers after rebooting.

If you have any issues using the new drivers with version 3 of P3D, please contact John at GoFlight.

Best wishes

Thank you for all your  help Steve , it is really appreciated at this end.

Did a re start.

Running Prepar 3D v3 as administrator, and GFDevP3D as administrator too, and no luck.

The module does work with X plane though so there is nothing worng with it.
