October 28, 201510 yr egnt, Is the error still FS has stopped working when you try and launch it? Are you using disc 4 to run the game? Have you changed graphic drivers since this started happening? Mark Daniels
October 28, 201510 yr pschlute, I have looked everywhere and I can't find the update anywhere. I assume that I haven't installed it. It will install automatically with all other microsoft updates. Do you have your computer set to receive updates ? I have sent you a PM Peter Schluter
October 28, 201510 yr Author Skywatcher, the error comes up before the program launches. I do not use the CD4 as I was advised to install the version 9.1 no cd patch by another forum when I originally installed the version 9.1. Pschlute, my computers last update was in May 2015, and it only stopped working on 24th October. Never mind everybody! Thank you loads for your soloutions but all I needed to do was uninstall the Cloud9 LAX scenery which was corrupting my files. Never mind!
October 28, 201510 yr Moderator egnt, Thank you for posting the solution to your issue; it's good to know what actually caused it! Alan
October 28, 201510 yr Never mind everybody! Thank you loads for your soloutions but all I needed to do was uninstall the Cloud9 LAX scenery which was corrupting my files. Never mind! That's why you need to test a default clean installation first as an addon was the suspect all along. If anything similar happens again keep it in mind, test without addons first. Happy to hear you got it sorted! Mark Daniels
October 29, 201510 yr Pretty much my first step whenever I get any problems that are not obviously due to whatever, is to replace the scenery.cfg file with the default one (backing up first of course!). If that fixes the issue (e.g. CTDs when approaching airports) then adding the sceneries back in batches enables you to find which scenery is the culprit and finally, by removing bgl files in batches from that scenry folder, which bgl file within that scenery. You sometimes need to delete/disable the default Name/Namw/EurE/EurW etc. etc. sceneries too, to check if a default scenery bgl file has been corrupted or deleted or replaced with a 'rogue' version... Tedious, but satisfying! Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
