**FREEWARE SR20 Parachute Deployment**

Featured Replies

That's a good point about the freeware Cirrus. It is excellent and I highly recomend it, and though I have not tried the chute, I understand it is pretty cool.I'm still looking forward to the Eaglesoft Cirrus as well.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Yep it's great but did you guy's also see the preview video of the Eaglesoft Cirrus SR20. Great little plane I reckon with also a good simulation of the parachute and the Avidyne Flight Entegra systems..I'm realy looking forward to fly this bird :) It's has come a long way and now it's almost finaly there!! (btw I'm not affiliated with Eaglesoft only a fan of this new generation aircrafts of Cirrus and Lancair)Oopps almost forgot the link for downloading the vid and some great reading on the systems f the plane: http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/downloads/PPPP.zipRob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. Thanks for the support Rob. Glad to see that some appreciate the over a years work that has gone into our bird :-)

Speaking of the freeware SR20, it seems to suffer from slow VC gauges.I know how the update rate of 2D XML gauges can be changed (they're fine in the SR20, though), but how can I change the update rate of VC gauges? They appear to be the same as the 2D ones, so something other than the gauge itself is regulating the VC gauge update rate.I *know* regular VC gauges CAN be faster than what the freeware SR20 has, so there has to be a way.. But where's the setting? Is it in the MDL file?

Thanks for the phone call today, Ron. Always a pleasure to chat. :-)Now, get the Cirrus out the hangar door, as our Baron will be following it shortly, and I don't need any delays on the taxiway! ;-)Best Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg

N204ES response..we're pedaling as fast as we can :-lol :-lolWe hope to get something for everyone to enjoy by the weekend but as you well know, we can't set that in stone at this point. In any event we'll clear the taxiway soon :-lol

But where's the>setting? Is it in the MDL file?Nothing wrong with the SR20 from Guenter and group...the nature of XML gauges is that some gauge sets do not like to be run in 2D and VC. The model file will not overcome the challenge to good performance.

Thanks Tony :-)

Thanks Joe for the links to the video and the SR20 by Guenter and group :-)

I was actually just asking IF the model file has anything to do with VC gauge performance - judging by your reply, it doesn't. Which is good, because the MDL file is the only file I don't know how to edit, SO if there is a VC gauge update rate setting somewhere else (AIR, CFGs, etc) I might be able to change it.However, if this is not a case of developer-regulated VC gauge rates BUT in fact a problem with the VC and 2D panel having to run the same set of gauges at the same time (as you suggested), would removing the 2D panel help? And if the slow VC gauge update rate is NOT caused by a conflict between the 2D panel and VC like the one you described (let's assume for a while that the SR20 does not have a "gauge set that does not like to be run in 2D and VC"), where is the VC gauge update rate setting hidden? As I mentioned in my original post, "regular" (as in "non-3D" like RealAir's) VC gauges can run considerably smoother than what the SR20 is showing, so this is not a case of "no can do". I just want to find out what to change to make them smoother, even if it requires more processing power :)Thanks!

Our comments were general in nature and not intended to be a final answer for what you describe. Suggest that you contact the developers on this issue and see if they are interested in helping you out.One caveat is that they may not wish to assist you in "redeveloping" or "reengineering" their product:-)

Well, I imagine if the solution had been as simple as I had hoped it would have been aired already, so I have to assume that the solution is not simple (like the "Update Frequency" option in XML gauges).I'll get in touch with the developers and see if they have some insight to offer. Thanks in any case!EDIT:On second thought, the developer seems to offer no other means of contact than a forum for which you have to register .. which doesn't work for me. So much for that idea :/

You registered here didn't you?
