November 24, 201510 yr Is there a source that explains how to perform the functions of the G1000 unit? The info supplied by Carenado shows all the menus, but it is difficult to figure out how to work the combination of softkeys, and the GCU 475. It is also hard to figure how what does not work and what should work, but is a bug. Thanks Everyone Peter
November 24, 201510 yr If you happen to own the Flight1 GTN 750, I've got a mod to merge it into the TBM. The Carenado G1000 is not very accurate and can get pretty frustrating, indeed.. Bert
April 19, 201610 yr Bert: I won't unleash my frustrations about the Carenado G1000. Suffice it to say that flightplanning is a nightmare and the supplied manual doesn't match at all. If I could get the mod to merge the GTN 750 with the TBM 850 I would be grateful. KInd regards, Ian McPhail
April 19, 201610 yr Hi Ian .. Unfortunately Bert is away from home .. till may ... You can send me your email address in PM .. I will send you the necessary files. Best regards J.C GTN is best way! April 19, 201610 yr Peter, have a look at this site. I was in the same position as you. It's helped me a lot. It's easy to relate it to the TBM 850's G1000. Cheers Bruce R Bruce Ross
April 19, 201610 yr Bruce : You can't compare real G1000 with G1000 from carenado (the same proline21) .. far to reality Best regards J.C Jakub CompelPMDG Prepar3d 777-200LR/F & 777-300ER , 737-900/800-700/600 Customer, Aerosoft A318/319, Twin Otter, A2A C172, Majestic Software Dash 8 Q400, RealAir Lancair Legacy V2, MILVIZ B350i, B737-200, TFDi 717, Flight1 GTN 750/650, HiFi ASN2016, ChasePlane, FsPassenger, GSX, Simstarter NG Intel i7 5820k@4,6Ghz - water ,MSI X99A Rider ,32GB RAM 2666MHz-Quad ,GPU GTX1070 , SB - Z (Logitech Z-5500) ,SSD Intel 520 120GB+SSD Kingston V300 120GB , 2TB+2TB, LG-GGW-H20L Blu-ray,Zdroj 700W Cooler Master, ASUS 27"+ LG 24"
April 20, 201610 yr Jakub, I agree with you, but even Carenado's, far from reality, G1000 is difficult to work out. The real G1000 in the video gives you some idea how it works. You can then relate that to Carenado's very simplified version. I was bamboozled how to figure out Carenado's, but the video certainly gave me some idea how things worked. I now know how to enter flight plans. With the lack of Carenado tutorials, this is better than nothing. Cheers Bruce R Bruce Ross
April 20, 201610 yr I think that, is difficult to apply real experience into the system from carenado. For this reason, probably they not produced manuals .. because they would have to be written on their product or the users to quickly find out that something is not working properly . (my opinion) Anyway the user who knows how to work G1000 find that something is not right - it is not my case I admit. I had no need to be more familiar with the G1000 because the first problem of this system for me is performance - absolutely therrible. August 24, 20169 yr Does anybody know how to get the TBM850 to track the G1000? I click on the Nav and the A/C goes haywire! flying all over the Sky and not able to tack at all! Please advise cookbook steps.. Thanks
August 27, 20169 yr Hi Skyseek I am presently rather far from my simulator screen, but if my memory does'nt fail, there is a soft key on the lower middle left side of the PFD under the mention "VLOC". If you click (push) on the key, "VLOC" disappears and a new mention "GPS" appears. Then the AP is connected to the GPS track when entering the NAV mode. Have a nice flight !
