2 problems after 5 flights without problem

Peter,

I copied your plan and saved it as EICKEDDF.PLN in MyDocuments\FlightSimulatorX Files.

Next I started RC4 and selected FS200x Flight Plans and pointed to that PLN. RC4 loaded it successfully.

I tuned 120.92 and heard ATIS. I then tuned 121.85 and requested Clearance. Received Clearance and my first waypoint NORLA - an NDB - is 61 miles away.

I'm sure if I selected 5 - Req Push and Start and 1 - Ground on 121.85 it would work as normal.

I did note that FSX wouldn't load it into its flight planner. What software are you using to generate these plans? If you open one the top line in mine reads "encoding "ISO-8859-1" but in yours it's UTF-8. That would explain why FSX can't load it but doesn't solve the RC4 problem.

When you press Rebuild Scenery DB do you see a question "Is this a WideFS configuration?" If so how do you answer it?

If you select No you're prompted to enter the path to where FS is located. You would type (for example) C:\FSX and hit OK.

You'll then see messages saying RC Rebuilding r4.csv, RC finished rebuilding r4.csv and then RC rebuilding new a4.csv file. Finally, RC finished rebuilding a4.csv.

That should work for you. Please advise.

Peter,

I just noticed this in an earlier message... "If so, can you provide me with a download link, because I use the old version from CD."

What version of RC4 are you running? Open Explorer and find the RC folder. Right-click rc4.exe and choose properties. On the Details tab I have 4.3.0.3845.

If yours is not that version you have an old version of RC. You should contact jdtllc.com for a link to the latest version.

Actually contact [email protected] for your download link. Include the e-mail address you ordered from, your current e-mail address, your registered user name so if necessary he can update your information in the user database. This will enable auto-registration to work. See the "If you need help" pinned topic.

UTF-8 stands for the 8 bit restricted Unicode standard. I created one in Steam FSX and that was in the header. I then loaded it into RC and again into FSX-SE. I am running under Win7-64 Pro.

Here's the FSX generated plan I made for comparison:

I think the punctuation is the same. Win must be set to the United States language version so commas are not used as decimal separation.

When you press Rebuild Scenery DB do you see a question "Is this a WideFS configuration?" If so how do you answer it?

NO, I do not see that question.

If you select No you're prompted to enter the path to where FS is located. You would type (for example) C:\FSX and hit OK.

Also NO This  window is not coming up.

My version is 4.00.3675, It is a CD version.   Flight plans generated with FSC.

Some Background info: I am using RC since JD release the software. I had never, rpt never any kind of problems before.

Now I see, that in any install I made, there was never "Makerwys" installed by myself. If I had it in the past in my FSX folder, then it came together with a program installation. So, now I had to install "Makerwys" by myself .

The question is now: If I push "Rebuild Scenery DB", why does RC not command Makerwys to complete this command???.

Can it be that there is another program missing, which interact with both?

I do think, if we solve the prob with scen rebuild, everything will be fine after that

Peter,

My version is 4.00.3675, It is a CD version.

That is an old version. You should be running 4.3.

Please write to [email protected] as Ronzie suggested quoting all the information Ron mentioned.

JD will give you a link to download 4.3.

No point discussing any of the problems you're having until you have 4.3. I suspect the problems will go away.

Ray,

last and hopefully final post: downloaded RC, got new key, started RC and pushed "Rebuild scenery DB" it works like it should.

I did not make a flight because lack of time, but I loaded a plan into plane and work with RC untill push back request. all ok.

I'm sure all the rest will work too.

Thank you very much for your help

Hi Peter,

Glad that things are working for you. You were running the old version for FS9, hence the problems. You'll be fine now. Happy flying!

The problem was resolved by the OP updating to the latest version of RC4.
