Active Sky Next Cloud disappearing P3Dv3

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im having this problem, most noticable since i installed ASN SP4 for P3D v3, i tested OpusFSI and almost doesnt happen, so im assuming this is ASN related.

Small chunks of clouds dissapear normally when im approaching them, i tried to change my P3D settings to low levels, changed the layers on ASN and other settings to low but always happens.

Anyone also has this?

Thank you

Marques

I get very little of that with ASN. try playing with your cloud draw distances.

I might have the same issue, though mine is more constrained to fog.  I get fog that tends to be a hybrid of what it would look like in FSX, vs what it looks like in P3D v3.  In fact, it's probably related to the latest build of ASN on my rig specifically as I get terrible performance now, as opposed to the previous build.  My frames drop really bad now.  I performed a flight from EGCC to EGMC last night and during takeoff and then at landing, frames were sub 20's, which I didn't get before.  I have my settings for cloud layers and distance set at a better performing level (as I always do) but again, the performance of the latest build for v3 seems to be a dog.

Jim - if you haven't done so - open a support ticket at support.hifitechinc.com - I'm sure it's something they would like to look into.

After spending some hours doing some serious testing i realize that this is not ASN related, since happened with other weather engines, and even with the default one...replacing cloud textures doesnt solve the problem also, i tried more than one, REX, HDE v2,... so i have to conlcud that is P3D related and probably depends on your rig and settings!
