Wonder if you could do that with something like FSHotseatFX.Find a boat sound and then link it to those models.Wouldnt be able to do the horn though but at least you could have a boat sounding abit like a boat.I know you can add your own custom sounds to planes using FShotseat or FShotseatFX so dont see why not with boats.Only thing with FSHotseat is that its payware and not free.Edit.. Holger posted at same time so mentions FSHotseat already.

I don't know how I missed this. Can I get a file name or d/l link?Dave

Can be found at this site. vicenh05.zip

Okey so FS9 has a set of AI sounds that work off of the weight and engine type (and number perhaps). Is there a maximum number of these sounds. By that I mean can a new class of aircraft be added to the AI set that would give you the sound set outside the current aircraft configs. When you add an AI aircraft to the sim does it just assign a sound to it based on it's type and weight or do you select that in the aircraft config somewhere? I'm also thinking that any "online" aircraft traffic is treated as though it's AI traffic and does the same thing with the sounds. I spent some time searching but couldn't find a way to add sounds without the ways you had suggested. I remember some time ago that you could specify a set of co-ordinates for a sound to happen. FS98 I think. This was pre-AI aircraft. All things concidered there are alot of "neccessary" sounds that need to happen to make flying as close to the real thing as possible. I could just imagine what it would be like if you could add sounds to it. Like rushing water over a waterfall or chainsaws cutting trees (if your flying a lumber load). Even traffic (road traffic - horns and emergency vehicles). All they need is a way to assign a sound to a dynamic object or AI object (be it what ever you want it to be). Simular to the MSTS (Microsoft Train Sim). Just did a quick hop over to the SDK site looking for info on adding sounds or Dynamic Objects for that matter. The only stuff there is on the aircraft container and it's sound files. It sure would liven thing up as it does and perhaps always has seemed a little to quiet. I'm going to keep looking into this though. It's kinda getting to me. Have you seen this?http://aspector.com/~brf/BusyObjects/index.htmlI don't think this will let you do sounds but you could perhaps add in boats bobbing in the water with this (float planes). Could be away to have boats move off the flighpath as it were.By the way if anyone is interested in Helijet Camel Point Helipad Base there are a couple of repaints for the Helijet AS350 Nemeth version both in the Helijet paint and the CTV paint. I know they have or had an AS355 Twin Star not the A-Star but they are great repaints and if you ignore the twin turbine thing they look almost identical. They are over at www.Hovercontrol.com. It would be cool in lew of not having an S-76 the A109 is pretty close to that particular bird and wouldn't look at all out of place as a helijet. From there website though they do have the S-76 and S-61. I haven't tried the float plane base yet and I dig flying them aswell. No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Hey All;Just wanted to add my 2 cents on how cool this scenery is.I just had to take one of my boat sims and cruise aroundthe harbor. I did notice one thing on my setup, maybecaused by something I'm doing wrong. The refinery thatis north east of downtown Vancouver is out in the middleof the river. Does anyone have any idea why that may be?Thanks in advance.

Hey Generale,The refinery is in it's real-world correct position. Since I have Ultimate Terrain and am working on V200x (both of which have correct shorelines) it's possible that with default shorelines the refinery is in an odd place. However no beta testers reported this so I'm not sure this is the problem.I wonder if anyone else has this problem . . . in any case you can rename the the structures_vancouver_refinery.BGL file in the landscape/scenery folder to disable it.Thanks for pointing this out.Jon

My thanks also for this excellent scenery.Just a note for anyone experiencing unexplained CTD's -I found, on my system at least, a conflict with WAHR (Heather's Ranch, just across the water to the south).Sorry Heather, your ranch had to go!Removal cured the CTD - I have no idea why it caused a problem - maybe just one of those things that happen on a flight sim. set-up with many different sceneries.Schofi

Hey Jon;Thanks for the reply. After reading your post I'll have to go back there and look again, maybe I'm seeing things. Inany event I won't disable it. It's a great looking refinery,I'll just imagine it's on an island. Thanks again for thegreat scenery.
