January 29, 201610 yr Anyone tried these? http://www.fspilotshop.com/cockpit-phd-boeing-handles-for-saitek-throttle-quadrant-p-5712.html?utm_campaign=160128&utm_content=imageclick&utm_medium=email&utm_source=PilotShop&utm_term=bluecta
January 31, 201610 yr I have similar handles, I would say mine looks even more realistic, I bought it from UK. It was a bit more expensive though. There is a small problem with such kind of handles, they are too heavy for Saitek levers (not sure about this one on that link). If you leave handles at an angle they will move forward or backward by its own weight. The developer I purchased from did some kind of trick, he included like a material tape, similar we use on a coat, you put those strips aside from lever slots and it creates some sort of connection, like rubber and it privets levers moving by its own weight. You have to apply a bit more pressure now to move levers but not too much. Overall I am happy. January 31, 201610 yr Edward, these might be what you're talking about? http://www.cockpitsimparts.co.uk/category.php?id_category=10 I bought them too and yes, they are too heavy but they come with velcro strips that you can apply and this "catches" the throttles enough that it can mostly hold them in place. However, I find that mine can still sometimes move even with the velcro stips. I also agree too, the ones from this site look more real than the OP original link. January 31, 201610 yr Author Thanks guys for your input! I checked the site and found several models but I guess when you have a single Saitek TQ as in my case this one would be a good option or which model did you get? http://www.cockpitsimparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=172 I think I'll place an order because even if this kind of setup can't be compared to a more high quality replica of the real 737 TQ I think it must be a clear step in the right direction compared to the original Saitek TQ as it comes out of the box or what do you say?
January 31, 201610 yr I checked the site and found several models but I guess when you have a single Saitek TQ as in my case this one would be a good option or which model did you get? Yeah, it all depends how you do things. For me, I use FS2Crew so I never am actually moving the flaps myself at all as the FO always handles that. So, I actually use two of the three axis on my single Saitek throttle quadrant for throttle and one for speed break. So I got the two throttle, one speed break option. If you want to move flaps yourself too and stay with a single throttle quadrant then yeah, the one you link to is the one you'd want. January 31, 201610 yr Author Cool, thanks! I actually use FS2Crew as well meaning I seldom handle the flaps on my own but I do handle them more often than I operate the left and right engines independently so guess I'll go ahead and place an order of the model I linked. Now this time of year when the FS2Crew FO is leaving the flaps at 15 for example after you vacated and on your way to the stand due to cold weather procedures it will be very nice with a flap lever
January 31, 201610 yr I have 2 sets of Saitek TQ, I purchased another one to accommodate flaps lever. Same as Kevin, I use Fs2Crew too so I rarely use flap lever. I fly PMDG airplanes so I use 2 levers for each engine separately. If you have engine issue and you need to reduce thrust one one engine you would need 2 throttles, not sure if you can achieve it using just key buttons. I do not see thrust reverses levers on that picture from the link. Mine has it. If that'is the case then your levers may be a little lighter then we have which is good. Thrust levers do not work in any way though The suck is Saitek TQ are gone from the market for now, those people on eBay and Amazon are going crazy selling $50 TQ for almost $180 and those are refurbished. I9-13900K | ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming LGA 1700 | MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB | CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid Cooler | CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 64GB (2X36) 5200MHx DDR5 | Thermaltake GF3 1650W 80+ Gold PSU | Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV 50”
January 31, 201610 yr Author Of course it's true you'll be in trouble if you face engine troubles with a 2-in-1 throttle lever but as I said above personally I think I'll have more use for a flaps lever. I heard about the Saitek TQs being back ordered so guess this is the time you should sell yours and make some money
