January 31, 201610 yr Good day fellow flight simmers. I have installed a few South African airports from a local developer into P3D v3.1 and have used them flawlessly. Today when I fired up P3D, all my addon scenery had disappeared and the scenery folder was back to default. All my addon airports gone including FTX Global and FS Global Ultimate entries. The airports were no longer displayed in P3D although they were still installed on my PC. FTX textures and FS Global Mesh was still present in the sim although not in the scenery listing. I had performed nothing unusual with any of the files. Had simply shutdown my PC inbetween flight sim sessions as usual. This also happened to me once with FSX. I wonder whether this is an intermittent bug which has been carried over from FSX, since it has now occured on both platforms? Any others encountered this? It's easy to rectify by re-installing the addons but would like to prevent it from occurring again. Regards. January 31, 201610 yr It could be a hiccup of FTX Central2 , have a look in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 and see what's inside scenery.cfg , if it is blank or does not have any of your addons, look inside Scenery.cfg_Orbx_Backup.cfg and compare ... if they are all there replace the file... The reason could be that P3D did not find the scenery.cfg file or it was in errror and then it created a new pristine one. Jorge
January 31, 201610 yr Author Ok thanks. I will do that later and feedback to you. My addon airports were not Orbx related but from another developer. It seem you are correct about P3D creating a pristine scenery file but I would like to know why...will check later.. January 31, 201610 yr It is the way it works, if any of the .cfg files in Program Data is missing or corrupt P3D will create a new pristine default one... to be aware of as if you have ( as in your case) personal addons ...the entries are gone!!! Jorge
February 10, 201610 yr Have you got any improvements? I im reinstalling everything from scratch and im having lot of trouble with this P3D..... My Addon Scenery Folder dissapeared too.... February 10, 201610 yr Moderator The new version of P3D does NOT install an Addon Scenery folder by default any longer. You need to add it yourself. If it disappears after that, see above posts as probable cause. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 11, 201610 yr Just a tip, if you have pirated ORBX this will happen. It deletes that file. Not saying that he is using pirated software but I've seen this type of thread over at ORBX more than once and whenever the person is asked for their order number the thread goes dead and or they are banned. February 11, 201610 yr Author I was not aware ORBX made any south african airports. Hi..the airports are not ORBX but a local developer, NMG Trading..(I wish ORBX would make SA airports!) I don't have any ORBX airports installed, only FTX Global...This loss of addons also happened once to me in FSX...Anyway have since re-installed and hope it stays that way!
