February 28, 201610 yr OK, now something has definitely got lost in translation. English is not my first language, but I was convinced the tongue-in-cheek intention would convey well (nobody would call their own requests "pestering" if they were dead serious about them, would they?)... All I can say is I had no intention of causing any aggravation, I apologize if I did. I now see how it may have come across, I did not mean it to... Ok no worries. I'm unclear whether the other post was serious or a joke - so we'll assume it was a joke. I appreciate what you say. The Legacy has tons of options that are to be enjoyed. I hope you enjoy them. February 29, 201610 yr The last two points rule out the RealAir Duke already, I think, which might have been an obvious suggestion.) Are you saying that the TD doesn't have VC shadows, because I sure see them. Please clarify.
February 29, 201610 yr Are you saying that the TD doesn't have VC shadows, because I sure see them. Please clarify. Nearly all addon aircraft, including our own, have VC shadows if you enable them in Steve's DX10 fixer. You can also force them with a line in FSX.cfg. Some VCs have a virtual "wall" which blocks out shadows but you can force them with the Fixer. There is a guide available for Steve's fixer here: www.nzfsim.org/index.php?dsp=dload&fname=DX10_HowTo.pdf Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
February 29, 201610 yr Yeah - in real life - GTN's are still few and far between - I wish my RXP GNS would work in P3D The prime reason why I have not migrated from FSX. I would still love to see a quality updated add-on early Beech Baron aircraft for FSX with only steam or vacuum gauges. Gained my multi-engine and instrument ratings in an early model Baron but cannot duplicate that..... So the MIlviz Baron B55 with a pair of RXP GNSs is a must have for me in a sim and not available as such in P3D. February 29, 201610 yr Per the original suggestion of the Carenado PC-12, it does have cockpit shadows on the knobs and whatnot and they look like carp... carp sticks... sticks of carp. Just flew it in P3D V3.0 and still trying to warm up to this aircraft. Goes back in the hanger, comes back out after someone says something nice, goes back, etc, etc, etc. Frank, I would KILL for an updated Carenado Baron that was accurate, had better lighting, and accepted Henry's turbo mods. Insta-buy! And I am sure the MilViz updates are right around the corner as well - have both the B55 and C310, and since the P-38 was just updated it is only a matter of time. February 29, 201610 yr Well, well, well, what did I start... I feel a bit bad for perhaps spoiling the weekend for a few of you. As I said I am already back in the Legacy, wondering why the heck I was so obsessed with those shadows. I certainly wasn't trying to blow things 'out of all reasonable proportion'. I simply noticed something, tried to look for something else but didn't find a solution I liked and that's it. Still would love shadows for knobs as I have them in other planes but I won't stop flying because I can't get them. So sorry for getting carried away like I did and hopefully this is the end of all this. I understand and of course respect the reasons why they were disabled. Heck, I am even considering buying the Duke anyway simply because somehow it seems a plane that is more suited for a GTN 750. Are you saying that the TD doesn't have VC shadows, because I sure see them. Please clarify. You might want to read a topic before posting in it, Jay. See my earlier posts for the answer to your question. February 29, 201610 yr I appreciate what you say. The Legacy has tons of options that are to be enjoyed. I hope you enjoy them. Once again, I'm sorry about the misunderstanding. And you can be sure I will enjoy the heck out of this plane just as I did with the original version in FSX! I found some shots from my first proper flights in the Legacy back in 2012, nobody obsessed about shadows back then... With all the new bells'n'whistles, it's sometimes easy to lose sight of the things that really matter. I spent more than a hundred hours in this plane in FSX, and I expect to spend even more now that it's back in P3Dv3... Regards, Tym (Click for original size.)
