FSX freezes @ "loading air land and sea" traffic, 86%

Featured Replies

I am my wit's end with this problem because software is not my forte.  I've searched the internet,  including here at Avisim.

Anybody have an idea what I can do  (in small words, please :) )

If you recently installed any AI traffic utility, like MyTraffic or Ultimate Traffic, it could be that this app has a faulty installation and the best way out is to uninstall such a program via Windows Uninstall (Control Panel - Programs and Features), reboot and re-start FSX. If that is the case and you're successful re-starting FSX then read the AI traffic program installation instructions carefully before another new installation.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Cheers, Ed

Nope, no AI addons at all,  and I just went in and shut all default AI.  It even got worse,  froze in the airplane selection screen.

OT,  but in the last month,  I have spilled coffee all over the keyboard of this machine,  dropped my smart phone and shattered the screen,  bought a cheap Walmart computer to get me by until this machine could be repaired,  struggled with Win10 on that computer,  and had passwords invalidated because, of course,  it was a new machine trying to access the website.   AAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Running fsx as administrator? delete your fsx.cfg file and let it rebuild?

Deleted fsx.cfg and it did load past 86%, however,  I then loaded the A2A Texan into the sim and it was looking great until I tried to do anything in the VC,  froze again,  with no textures displayed.

I'll keep trying things on this end,  if anyone comes up with some ideas,  I would sure appreciate it.

So the problem you had in the OP is fixed.  Now you have a new problem with the A2A Texan?  Do you have any event in the Event Viewer or is there a report using the AppCrashView?  Sounds like you have something scanning your system in the background like in a schedule update or anti-virus check or something like that.
