i wanna give x plane 10 a shot from the screenshot i have seen i just couldn't hold on anymore lol

 

so i went ahead and installed DVD 1 and currently updating it to the latest version

 

now should i install all dvds because i only fly in Europe 

 

i feel like a baby trying to walk for the first time lol completely lost

You won't be disappointed.

Same boat as me, learning curve was steep at first, but stick with it and you will be a believer!

Never had that happen, but I have had my plane decide it didn't want to fly any more after picking up a good coat of ice. Happens VERY fast in the sim... maybe a little too fast, but it's neat that it's there. 

I'm also transitioning from FSX to Xplane. Like others have stated SkyMax Pro is very good. I kind of regret buying the real weather connector but I haven't spent enough time with my new purchase to evaluate it.

 

The real lacking thing is that there is no ASN or a similar weather injector. I'm crossing my fingers that any day now Hi-Fi will announce ASNXP. One can dream right

You wont need any injector... with next version 10.50 all weather info will be NOAA data, including upper winds.

Global Winds Aloft: X-Plane 10.50 will use global NOAA data for winds aloft, rather than a US-only data source.

real weather connector takes X-plane capabilities of layers to another level. But info should be there properly. Skymaxx + rwc override clouds and layers from X-plane. You can even see small cell storms and not a complete area with rain/storm.

Does .50 beta include those changes? I would like to test them.

I found this to be the opposite. I'm finding that clouds are changing abruptly and its very annoying. If I disable the plugin all is well.

oh yeah, I havent found the magical slider position yet... that in most cases happens once an hour, but if you use an external weather injector, it might be changing quite often, and thats no good...

 

I quit updating to beta's, because sometime plugins will crashed and have to wait for they to catch up... Dont know if beta has implemented that yet.

Dont quite remember, but if you select the second choice from RWC, that one will update once an hour... not really sure.

I use NOAA PLUGIN and have the same issue.. clouds changing to often like 10-15 min...

You need to run the Xplane installer and then select the area you like to fly in in the world map. No need to install all dvds

i did run the installer which is DVD 1 then i selected all of Europe the area i only fly at but i see no terrain

Have you downloaded the last installer from LR site, I remember I had similar problems. I selected new area but after installing there were simply not present.
