KNOSSOS

Prepar3D Tweak Assistant (PTA)

Recommended Posts

This happens because of "Cloud size algorithm" option in REX. You can set default value for this option and then use "Cloud size coefficients" tweak that make the same adjustment.

Thank you so much it works.

Knossos, mate, awesome work with 1.5! I ditched reshade and made a preset in PTA to mimic ReShade preset from URP, but I'm missing ambient light fx from GemFX. Is there any chance you can include it in the tool? Cheers! Thanks!

Ambient light would be great.

Thanks, Predrag!

Unfortunately, Ambient light from GemFX is too complex. It uses special textures from GemFX/Textures/* that can't be loaded without modification of core Prepar3D code. I have no ideas how to load them. Shaders are just part of rendering engine.

Hm, I know it has some addon textures, but I've used ambient light without "dirt textures". Maybe you could implement it without textures, just with that bloom like effect?

Regrettably no.

Update for PTA 1.5 uploaded to site.

Fixed bug: wrong color at dawn/dusk with "Atmospheric scattering" tweak enabled.

To install just replace old PTA.exe with new from distribution archive and apply your preset.

Sorry for inconvenience.

Hi Yuri,

Regarding sun refelection on water PTA has the wider P3D refecltion width or the smaller FSX reflection width.

After having looked at lots of sun reflection on water pics it looks like the best is somewhere in between.

Can you tell me which parameters I can change to modidy the suns refection on water width ?

Thanks,

Hi, Gerard,

I don't have solution for such tweak (IMO default P3D reflection is very realistic).

Hello Yuri,

Thanks for this great tweak utility, its a blessing!

Just one question. To you know how to lower the light on clouds reflection at night? When the Moon is up, the light from the Moon is way too bright on the clouds. The Same is by Dusk and Dawn, when the Sun is already behind or still behind the Horizon the clouds are bright as day.

That is something which bothers me since i'm on P3D. Its is also the point why i hate flying at night currently.

Maybe you have a solution for that?

Here a Picture how it looks by me.

ReShade is off, i only use your PTA tool but the clouds looked already with the default shaders like that.

Full Moon is behind the Picture.

Hi! Is it picture with PTA preset applied? Does the cloud brightness remain the same without PTA (with default P3D shaders)?

Hi! By the Picture is a PTA preset applied, but the cloud brightness remain the same without PTA. But when there is no moon up the clouds look normal.

EDIT: By the PTA is "Reduce clouds brightness at dawn dusk" applied, that makes it just a little bit better, i use REX4 soft clouds.

Most important thing is sky texture. Try another balanced textures (for expample, custom free set from Navid - http://www.navidh.se/repaint.html is amazing or REX sky).

If problem remains, use "Reduce cloud brightess at dawn and dusk" tweak in PTA.

Thank you Yuri!

I will try out Navids Textures and also check some different textures from REX4 Texture Direct.
