Blushes out loud  ......

Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio.  XP11, P3Dv3 and an Oculus Rift.

I don't think that there is any harm in being passionate about a "dead end" flightsim, David. I was a big supporter of Flight Unlimited 3 for many years, long after Looking Glass Studios were consigne

  • Well, before we go around calling each other names.... lets make sure we have our definitions correct........   (note: This is a fun post. Any resemblance to a real person, living or dead....

To be clear. I'm one of the people who occasionally brings up Flight; but there's a carefully considered method to my madness. (honest!)

Flight wasn't really given a chance by the simulation community. People often made knee-jerk reactions, and we can be (unfortunately) prone to lynch mobs; especially when the phrase "not a sim" is mentioned. (Which acts pretty much like a red flag to a bull.)

With DTG Flight School and Aerofly 2 both being less than technically accurate (even less so than FLIGHT!) I think its not inappropriate to remind people that once before we looked a gift horse straight in the mouth, and made a snap judgement that helped lead, (I and I think many others believe) to a tragically lost opportunity.

Remembering bad history is a good step towards the avoidance of repeating it.

With that in mind, I've spent literally days (I think I'm up over 60 hours at this point) turning Flight School inside out and giving it the fairest look-see I can. (No knee-jerk reactions!!)

In the meantime I've been gratified to see that the first community trend to dismiss Aerofly 2 seems to have turned around. (Think Mr Ainscoughs video helped a lot!)

Anyway, today I finally posted a pointed critical comment about Flight School. It was very carefully considered, and I think (hope) warranted.

Hmmmmm.... wandering a bit....... Back to the point of your original post: The thing is, I don't believe the occasional mention of Flight by people who cared for it, especially in light of the frequent offhand posts by people almost routinely maligning it, fairly counts as "Trolling"

I, and I think many others feel that your OP was just plain old unnecessary, and as you can see, hasn't lead anywhere productive.

I hope we can move on.

For myself, I'm outta this thread!  (unless something constructive is happening)  :p0504:

Since I hate stupid fights and this one was pretty silly, I'll buy.

(I'm still not seeing any trolls, though)
