July 14, 20169 yr I've got a 2500k at 4GHz GTX 970 two monitors at 1080P. Is anyone running this new software on a similar machine with payware aircraft and scenery? Does it perform ok? I'm running REX with OPUS FSI at the moment it works pretty well. But the in cloud motion effect seems really cool and I'd like to try something new. But it is really pricey for the P3D version. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 14, 20169 yr I am running it on a 3570K @ 4.2 GHz, GTX670 2GB, 16 GB CL9 RAM, with conservative settings in AS16 (pretty much the same I've used with ASN and REX4, like 4 cloud layers, 70sm max visibility), and 512x512 clouds in ASCA, and it sincerely performs a tad better than ASN with REX4 with Soft Clouds, even in dense weather!
July 14, 20169 yr Moderator I haven't got ASCA yet but run AS16 on an 2700K on the same rig and it hasn't effected performance at all. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 14, 20169 yr Here I'm on i5 2500 @ 3,3 GHz, 16 GB DDR3 RAM + GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 video card. Single cheap Led ASUS monitor @ 1920 x 1080. I run P3Dv3 latest release + AS16 + ASCA + PSXAloft + Aerowinx PSX ( screen split with upper half for the p3d visuals and the lower half for a partial panel view of the PSX 744, other views being full screen PSX ). Getting stable 30 fps. Same when running P3Dv3 only with my only add-on for it - PMDG 777 base package. But since I use P3Dv3 mainly for the visuals I am: - using only default scenery; - setting max cloud layers to 3, although I could easily get the same values with the default 5 and even more ( tried with custom weather dfuring the beta testing of AS16 and ASCA ); - setting autogen buildings and trees to full left ( NILL ) in P3Dv3; - setting weather graphics to one notch left of full right :-); AS16 is optimized compared to ASN, and in ASCA I set the textures to DXT, but still, given the additional processing done by AS16, it is remarkable how they managed to get such smooth performance. Except for the last month, my videos on the hesynergy channel are generated on a Shadowplay/OC'd I7-2600K/GTX 770 Platform. Only the lastest one uses my GTX1080..AS16/ASCA I have been really pleased with what I see....but 1. I need to do more testing /Vids with P2A in the mix, Because; 2. My Newegg shopping basket/wish list includes an I-7 6700K/MOBO/memory combo. I haven't pulled the trigger ...yet.
