CDU stuck with LFMN route when using FSiPanel

Recommended Posts

I'm using FSiPanel to practice approaches in the 737NGX however when FSiPanel loads the aircraft the CDU is always programmed with a route from/to LFMN and I can't figure out why:

I'm also unable to modify the route. I raised this over at the FSiPanel support forum however the developer Jean-Pierre said that FSiPanel doesn't program the FMS for approach, so I'm not really sure where this is coming from or why.

I uninstalled/reinstalled both FSiPanel and 737NGX but to no avail.

Any ideas?

It works without the FSiPanel, correct?

This happens to me too with FSIpanel... but I can change it. The FMC works normally, so I just change departure and destination on RTE page 1, and I can plug in a new route, approach etc. Are you changing your departure and destination airport first? Won't be able to select an approach at KPSP, for example, until your destination is set to KPSP.

Works without FSIpanel.

Doesn't work with FSIpanel.

Sounds like something to bring up to that dev, no?

It is just a generic airport so the CDU has basic info to give you a VREF. If you watch his YouTube videos you will see the correct process for programming the CDU.

If you are just flying a 8-10nm ILS then you really don't need the CDU as it is optional. If you set yourself up on a STAR then once the aircraft is placed and trimmed up, you can pause and input all the data into CDU and go on your way.

Of course then you would omit LFMN and change it to your actual destination.

As per my opening post, this is exactly what I did Kyle but he says his software does not program the FMS (however if this not the case I'm wondering where LFMN is coming from???)

Good tip, thanks - I had to double check I wasn't trying to change departure before destination before I replied to your post - and I wasn't, so unfortunately this wasn't the answer.

Another good tip - watched one of his videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2bQEXEv7KM) and noted down exact procedure and followed to the letter, but I cannot modify the destination as he does (at 8:05 in video) - please see this new screenshot that shows the EXEC button is not illuminated despite the MOD from LFMN to MHTG. Pressing EXEC does nothing:

Anymore help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Disregard being unable to hit EXEC. Go to DEP ARR page and you should be able to select STARS and APPs for your selected airport.

Many thanks, that solved the issue.
