save me diving into the FCOM. Can anyone tell me what the O/C button on the MCP is for?

O/C or CO?

 

CO stands for "changeover." It allows you to swap from Mach to Knots and back.

You mean C/O??

 

This is exactly the question that is answered in the FCOM. The more you use the documentation the faster you'll find things, this took less than I am spending in reply.  See FCOM 4.10.2

 

EDIT:  I see Kyle was more forthcoming than I..., regardless, check out the FCOM.

What is more is you really need to get the MCP down pat if you want to enjoy the airplane to the fullest. Understanding the AFDS in full is challenging but thereafter prepare for lots of fun like the pros.
