November 10, 20169 yr REX Texture Direct with Soft Clouds, ASCA and AS16 all combinedI believe ASCA will replace all textures having to do with anything in the sky. REX will still affect water, coral, runways, taxiways, airport lighting, etc. Michael Cubine
November 10, 20169 yr Is it possible to do a free trial of ASCA? I bought as2016 but wanted to try the cloud art. Not sue if it is possible to try it out without buying.

There is no trial for ASCA. Alright so I figured out that the ASCA Clouds have a huge impact on the VAS. I turned them down to 1024 32-Bit and now it works perfect! About 500mb less VAS with no reducing of the Graphics or LOD Try the 512 or 1024 DXT textures instead of the 32 bit textures. DXT textures perform better, don't require as much memory and look almost the same. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
November 10, 20169 yr Author @pcubine I set it up that ASCA only does the changing and the sky colours. Like in this video: @jimburke Alright I'll try it. Thanks for the tip
November 11, 20169 yr Hmm this is interesting. I didn't realize there was a reason to get ASCA if you are already using rex soft clouds. Didn't know both could be used at same time for different purposes.
November 11, 20169 yr Author Yeah I didnt knew either but then I saw that video and it lookes os awesome I had to get it. And now it really looks great. YOu have a bigger variety of clouds and cloud structures.. I can really recommend it!
