What do you do for passengers and cargo?

Featured Replies

I use SimBrief or PFPX to do my flight planning.  In both, they just group the passengers, baggage and cargo into single figures:

  • Passengers: 203
  • Baggage: 3103
  • Cargo: 36123

In the airplane it has forward and aft cargo, as well as First, Business and Economy class.  How do you distribute it out?  Or do you just use Random loads and the Short/Medium/Long button (and, if so, how do you configure derates, etc)?

I just put in the ZFW and let the aircraft distribute it appropriately.

Yeah. It's impossible to guess "who bought first class" and who bought coach, so ZFW matching is my method as well.

Unless you have some sort of simulated booking system set up, which I'm sure some virtual airlines use.

How do you distribute it out?

Good luck. American Airlines has 27 different loading scenarios for their 777's. I don't know how much of a difference it makes with a flight simulator.
