November 29, 200520 yr Some of my planes will move forward while parked at the terminal. This happens with the parking brakes set and engines at idle.PMDG737 in particular but not the only one.Would appreciate any comments/solutions to this problem. Thanks Joaquin Blanco Intel Core i9-9900K at 5Ghz, Corsair Hydro H100i RGB PLATINUM CPU cooler, Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E,Motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB GDDR6, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory, 500GB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 PCIe,2TB Samsung 860 QVO Solid State Drive, 2TB, 2 x Samsung 860 Evo 2TB, 1 x 1TB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU.
November 29, 200520 yr Quite common for all FS aircraft - though turboprops are worst in my experience.FS doesn't actually have a completely stopped throttle position with the engines still running.I've never heard of any solution, except turning off the engines.

November 30, 200520 yr With turboprops, reducing the condition levers from flight idle to ground idle often helps. Where no idle marks are given, just reduce the fuel flow to about half. That stops most of the problems I've been having and, usually, you can still taxi on ground idle. There are definately some strange interactions between aircraft and the ground in FS.Cheers,Ian P.
November 30, 200520 yr Well just after the PMDG 737 or just about any other aircraft loads I hit the F1 key and hold it for a second or two. At least in the PMDG you can see that the engines will spool down just a little bit and this takes away most if not all of the tendancy to roll at the gate. It is not a perfect solution but it helps. It is rather odd that at times you have to go at almost full throttle to get a plane to begin taxiing but will sneak away from you at idle with the parking brake on. This is one of the things that I really hope will get attention in the next FS release, how does MS expect my poor passengers to board my plane like this? :-)Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
November 30, 200520 yr My PMDG 737NGs do not creep with engines at idle and the parking brakes on with my setup. To insure idle for reverse thrust application I calibrate in gaming options the throttle axis by just going a tad above bottom travel. I found that I had just enough slop at the bottom that it was not always getting to idle. In addition, with the USB throttle control (CH) I found the throttle levers were jumping slightly above idle. Besides applying FSUIPC's antispike, I also place a small amount of null in the FS sensitivities for that axis. The virtual throttles are steady now at idle. The way I have idle set up does not open the reverser buckets so it must be OK.I'd also check your brake axis sensitivities if using toe brakes as well. I can hold the PMDGs (600/700/800/900) in place with no difficulty at idle.
November 30, 200520 yr One of the rules I learned in flight training was...when you are parked on the ramp with the engines running or holding short of the runway, you should keep your parking brakes. This will keep you from creeping forward, rolling around, etc.Kevin
November 30, 200520 yr Author >how does MS expect my poor passengers to>board my plane like this? :-)>>Philip Olson>>http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpghmm- my passengers are not poor. They can't be- I charge 'em good for riding the premium airline aircraft such as PMDG and LDS :) Although I do get frequent complaints about their coffee spilling? when the aircraft is (supposed to be) at a STOP at the gate lol. One bit their tongue and we had to send them to the virtual e-room. All because of some silly idle problem.*:-*
