Ultimate Night Environment Professional

Hey everyone, is anybody using Ultimate Night Environment Professional? I had UTUSA but the program was effecting my FPS too much. This looks like a good alternative. I can't find a review for this one. Best regards, Jeff

Really adds a lot of sparkle and glitter, replacing the bland default night lighting. Little impact on framerates. Cities now light up nicely. Is it "realistic"? Don't know and don't care. But it just adds that extra touch of immersion. ricardo

The best reviewer in this case are your own eyes - pictures are worth thousand words.Judging by the shots it is a grossly unrealistic representation of night lighting but what the heck - it is another alternative to chose from and more choices we have the better off we are. These night lights are defintely way too strong but it has other nice features too. Hey Ricardo, Yep, thats the one. Thanks. If anyone else also has some feedback, let me know. Best regards, Jeff

I don't have the product, but frankly looking at the screenshots it does not do anything that a good freeware package from the libraries here wouldn't.It all comes down to the basic limitation of the FS graphics engine - the night lighting is represented by textures, not "true" light sources. If you look at it directly from above it looks fine, like most screenshots of this product.Looking at the cities from a spot further away in real life would create an "aura" around the city due to small particles and such in the air, thus making the city lights visible to much greater distances than what can be represented in FS.It's an unfortunate limitation as IRL night flying around cities is an amazing sight. You can't fix that limitation by adding new textures, payware or freeware.

Well i am pretty happy with the new textures.Gives the sim a major lift in brightness and looks far better than any of the freeware textures available.Looks far more realistic in giving a much better impression of how spectacular night flying really is.Well worththe small price.Darren
