December 8, 200520 yr Just wondering what you think of it related to appearance and framerates. Thanks in advance.Don
December 9, 200520 yr Got a link/ more info? I searched the library for FSTree and got nada.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
December 9, 200520 yr Just search for FStree2004 in AVSIM. Also the developer has a web page: http://www.i-custo.com/oscarOver 4300 downloads so far, someone must have tried it. Don
December 9, 200520 yr I tried it (the 60 percent tree height version) but preferred the default for appearance. FPS was not an issue because I downsized the textures. Still waiting for a good-looking tree set with smaller trees. "Tiny trees" from the nordic web site were okay but still not right for me.John
December 9, 200520 yr Thanks for the link Don. Think I'll pass as the textures look pretty bad from the screenshots, nice idea though.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
December 9, 200520 yr Has anyone tried the photo-realistic trees available on the other site? File is str04v1.zip John
December 9, 200520 yr I tried this some time ago, maybe things have improved, but:1. I don't think it looks good, strange colors and the two-cardbord-assembly-look got worse.2. It did not blend well into the environment.3. Fps suffered a lot, I had a ATI 128 Pro then.4. I had a hard time getting rid of it, no uninstaller (maybe they have now, if not
December 9, 200520 yr I tried them...downloaded FSTrees from AVSIM...the look nicer then the default ones...but of course is my opinion...Frame rate didn't noticed a lot..;o)
December 9, 200520 yr >Has anyone tried the photo-realistic trees available on the>other site? >>File is str04v1.zip >>John dG,What site is this 'other site'? I've encountered this expression before on avsim (only) and I'm really lost :+ Please email the answer at [email protected] if it's your last available option.Ulf B
December 9, 200520 yr political correctness ridicule. They mean www.flightsim.comRob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"
December 9, 200520 yr Less political correctness, more ####-for-tat. For a long time the `Other Site` actually had a block on the word Avsim so you couldn't actually use its name there. Precisely the reason why I gave up on the other site and came here. Moderation gone mad. But now many people refuse to use the identity of the other site, or of course know it all too well as `All Nodes Busy` (the other reason I stopped going there). What is the point of a freeware site that you can't actually access?:-waveAllcott
December 9, 200520 yr I'm sure the irony of the post above being involuntarily edited will not be lost on us! Especially when you talk about trees, the habitat of such birds as the Great Crested ####, the Blue ####, Siberian #### and the Marsh #### :D But why does the auto-censor put four # in place of three letters? It can spell but it can't count?Allcott
December 9, 200520 yr Getting back to the original topic, I've been using FSTree for some time and like them.
