John,In my view your post is off the subject. The original post was not about inadequate exterior or VC modelling but primarily about a "strange" flight model. I want to hear example of this strangeness with specific aircraft named - not just generalities like in the original Mike's post.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

Mike, Its not uncommon to read posts like yours. The person likely has a real problem, but its not clear if the persons problem is a small isolated incident or a flaming world trend. Your post states you've had problems (but no specifics to how many vendors or which ones), and you step back and make sweeping statements like, "Where is the quality control for payware aircraft"?As a manager of people I face these kind of statements now and then. Folks from another dept will say, "how come your engineers don't care enough anymore?". I'll ask, who is giving you a hard time? The first response is, I don't want to name names, but you have a real problem. We're a small company, so I can get away with pushing a bit, I'll say ... Dave is always helpful that I see...the response...well sure, Dave is great. Etc. Etc. until I get to the problem. That person is usually under great stress and some work needs to be done, but its a misrepresentation of the problem, done under the guise of being politically correct, that delays me from helping. Even worse, without data, I could err and provide discipline to totally innocent folks, which is surely a demorlizing mistake to make. Certainly I'm mislead if I'm allow myself to think I have a general problem, just because the complainer says so. So, I seek data. Anytime a person choose to keep data anonomous to supposedly protect someone, I reach the conclusion that they are likely exagerating, and the keeping of data secret is to avoid exposing the exaggeration. You owe it to the many good hardworking aircraft developers to either name names, so the reader can asses how valid your sweeping statements are, or not post your complaint at all. That, of course, is only my opinion. Its not based on asking to reduce the discorse on problems, its only asked to eliminate the false discorse caused by exageration.Best intent,Bob Bernstein

I don't view my remarks as off the subject. I didn't even wish to dive into detail until everyone started challenging the thread's author to cite specifics--which was a very valid challenge until it got out of hand. My point is it doesn't matter what the complaint--payware I feel is obligated to rise to a higher standard and sometimes blaming the system isn't an appropriate answer.I tried to cite the instances system issues are valid, and the instances it isn't. Mike explained his reasons why he spoke in general terms, then the character bashing began. Whether you agree with it or not, I had thoughts to add and I feel they very much belong here in the thread. When I see the bashing begin, the gloves will come off because I for one am sick and tired of that being used to debunk opinion by those who can't articulate a thought any other way.To your credit, I felt you were one who offered a fair challenge to the thread's author, btw...-John

Bob, I understand your reasoning and can see why such a perception would exist. Given the depth of feelings about developers here I'm even more convinced that publically posting specifics would just generate a flame war. So, check your avsim user account inbox as I'm going to send you privately the specific details. If you wish to report back publicly your opinion of my issues that's fine with me. My other passion/hobby is golf. I was thinkng about this whole issue in that light as golfers depend on for-profit companies for that hobby also. I came up with the following as my final word in this thread: A parable: Suppose Kallaway Golf took their business model from flight sim developers. I just recently purchased a beautiful looking sand wedge for $80 from Kallaway. After only the second swing the club head flew off. I immediately went to the Kallaway support forum. The exchange went something like this:Me: I just purchased your sand wedge and after the second swing the head flew off.Them: That

Mike, I guess its good we stop, this'll be my last also...You state you understand my reasoning, yet you again make a sweeping generalization in saying:"Suppose Kallaway Golf took their business model from flight sim developers"That pretty much condemns the addon marketplace for being idiots, and that is pretty much the opposite of what I was teaching.So.....CyaB
