Aerosoft's Frankfort, another great add-on.

With all the features this scenery has there's zero impact on framerates. This truly is another great airport that sadly I don't have to time to explain in great detail. All I can say is this is a must have for anyone into international airport scenery... :-beerchug

Hi there,Aerosoft's new EDDF does look very good but I wonder where you get that "zero impact" idea from???First off, NO add-on of high complexity has zero impact. Second, I've been reading some of the German-language forums about resource impacts of Mega-Airport EDDF and they appear to be substantial, particularly if you want to have any decent level of custom AI and are piloting a complex aircraft yourself. For example, people report to "be happy" with 13-15 fps at 35% AI-Traffic (AMD XP3000+, NVidia 6800GT), or even 7-9 fps with 30% UT-Traffic (AMD3000+, ATI 9800 Pro, using PMDG 747). Without any AI, some people report up to 20 fps steady (Athlon 64 2500+ ATI X800GTO, PMDG 747).The source thread is this: http://www.wcm.at/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=181752In short, it appears that one needs to have either a high-end rig or be willing to move sliders to the left, including weather and AI density, to be able to fully enjoy this add-on. Cheers, Holger

I just bought it and took a look around. It really does look fantastic. I have lots of static and dynamic traffic and am seeing no more of a framerate impact than I see with other heavily detailed addon sceneries. It's great to finally have this major and important European airport in all its glory. This airport just seems alive, with lots of things happening on the apron; even fire engines and blaring alarms. Danke, Aerosoft!ricardo

Holger I see no substantial impact on my end especially compared to what I was getting with Simflyer's version.

Okay - "no impact on frame rate" and "no more impact on frame rate than SimFlyers" is a somewhat large difference. SimFlyers isn

Uwe:to clarify: it appears that on my system EDDF falls in between the recently released Cloud 9 EHAM scenery and Flytampa's scenery. Better than EHAM but not quite the framerates I'm getting with Flytampa. (All sliders right, traffic at "normal").ricardo

Hi,I just installed it and browsed a bit.Detail is great and the framerates too. I get about 21-22 fps with the PMDG 736 (No VC, AI 50%, Over cast, Scenery very desnse)- AMD 3500+, ATI X850XT, 2GB RAM

Well, make sure during the 1st flight you lay your wallet on the copilot seat. I'm sure he will appreciate it :-lol

Not particularly speaking about the EDDF product, let me just take this opportunity to add: "NO add-on of high complexity has zero impact.". In my opinion it is "not all vendors master the technology needed to make a 0 FPS hit scenery".This is the same as with gauges! some are using GDI+ and impose to the user settings to adjust gauge EFIS refresh rate and options (like disabling rotating text on rotating roses to avoid loss of FPS), while other vendors, or at least Reality XP, offers one of the most fluid EFIS experience (Meggitt, Jet Line 2/4, Sandel SN3308 and ST3400 TAWS/RMI) WITHOUT any slider to adjust the EFIS refresh rate.In this respect, I know of only 1 vendor offering 0-FPS hit scenery (or near to it):http://www.flightscenery.comThey seem to have mastered some scenery development technologies that offers one of the highest level of detail I've ever seen in an FS scenery, as well as one of the most photorealistic true-to-life looking experience (shadows, reflections, light casting etc...) while not sacrifying AT ALL the FPS counter!I don't have the EDDF scenery, and it seems that many reports are saying it has little FPS hit, or better FPS than some other sceneries and this is fine! Bottom line: never assume this is not possible only because some vendors cannot do it...Hope this helps!

Well so far it works pretty great on my laptop. I will check on the desktop soon I have more AI percentage and the sliders a little farther up but it is a more powerful computer. I have to say it is better than SimFlyers and I know that isnt saying much performance wise but it looks a heck of alot better.
