Vista Australis "Shine" Video

Featured Replies

This week will see the release some of the most amazing videos you'll see made with FS9. Two of them are in post-production right now, and have been made by two of the leading video crafters for FS2004, Arkitekt and Hyfly. Stay tuned for those....Meantime, I present "Shine", a 2:44 tour of the southern region of Australia, particularly the city of Melbourne and the surrounding, dry, sunburnt landscapes. This is easily the best video I've made thus far. It will be worthy of your bandwidth for the 151MB download. It's in the latest WMV-HD 720p format, and comes in at 151MB.http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/koo...Shine_Thumb.jpghttp://vistaoz.org/videos/VOZ_Shine.zipWe are on target for release next Friday :)

I've seen only one of Arkitekt's videos, but it was nice.I can't wait until January to get my bonus so I can buy my new digital camcorder and pipe s-video to record rather than use FRAPS to eat resources.

Apologies. It's "FLYHALF" not Hylfy..... God I am a goose sometimes :(Definitely check out FlyHalf's stuff. His "Big in Asia" video is one of the finest I have ever seen.FRAPS is what I use and it's the best solution bar none, and as you'll see from my vid, it's as smooth as butter. If it's eating frames it may be time to upgrade your PC or tune FS9 for vids.

>If it's eating frames it may be time to upgrade your PC or tune >FS9 for vids.Actually, I have a decent system. What kills me is my high slider settings. Sure I can tune them all down, but I like them high. ( not the obvious ones of course, clouds are the main killer ). I've been doing videos for quite awhile and I keep a nice balance of high detail but keep pretty smooth videos ( with some occasional studder, which even yours had in a few spots ).When ya use FRAPS you're bottlenecked at I/O speed mainly. I use a single S-ATA, no raid array, so that hurts my performance. My system is:Athlon 64-bit 3500+Asus A8V Deluxe Motherboard1G of OCZ Platinum (2.0 CL)eVGA 256MB GeForce 6800 Ultra300gb Seagate Barracuda S-ATASoundBlaster Live!My settings are tweaked for FS9, I just run my sliders a bit high. ;)

That is the best video i have ever see. Why? Because it was filmed in my hometown. I cannot wait. Looks awesome!!! :D

This video is incredible! Koorby is GOD!!-John.

>This video is incredible! Koorby is GOD!!>>-John.LOL! Well I'm not so sure about that, hehe! But thanks for watching :)

Its truly stunning, though I hope you will correct the container cranes in the harbor visible in the openning shot of that video. Also the P&O Nedlloyd vessel about to be grounded...there are a few ships that need tweaking in placement still...but perhaps this is a beta...still STUNNINGLY Good.

I hate to ask, but do you have an estimated time of release and where we can download it? If you do not want to answer, I completely understand. Your project looks absolutely awesome! :DThanks,Kevin

Koorby,I have been following the development of this great Aussie scenery for a while now, and am glad that release day is soon.Although never been Down Under myself, I am sure that what you have done in FS is as close to reality as it's going to get, so well done with all your effort and hard work on this wonderfull project mate.I'm sure this one is going to be a killer, and a firm fav with everyone who may wish to fly in the land of the Kookabura.Cheers,

Your project looks absolutely awesome!>:D>>Thanks,>>KevinRelease date is next Friday for the 0.99 version (which we're pushing out whether it's ready or not) - it *is* Christmas after all, and you all deserve a present! We'll follow up with a 1.1 release in Feb which will be a catch-up and bug-squash version, and then 1.5 in March which will be the final summer release before we start on Autumn. We also expect a huge amount of new airports, scenery, LC to be added by 1.5

Hi Koorby.Just downloaded the video but having a hard time running it as WMP10 keeps saying the file is using a codec it doesn't recognised. What do I need to see it as it sounds really amazing going by what I have seen. Media Player is up to date. Sorry for the ignorance but I would really love to see this.Gary
