December 17, 200520 yr I now have Radar Contact. (I just sent an e-mail..and waiting for a registration #. In the meanwhile.. I am reading the documentation.I need a good flight planner. I don't mind getting a real flight planner since I can use for realworld flight planning as well.currently I use the APOA/DUAT flight planner.. for free. But I am not sure.. I can export those flight plans in a format RCv4 would take.I would prefer a flight planner that would take/accept STARs and DPs Any ideas or suggeston? What do you use and why did you pick the one that you are using?Or is a flightplaner an overkill for sims?Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 17, 200520 yr Thanks.. Let me go check that out.. BTW.. can the FSBuild flight plan be imported into Reality XP Garmin 530? December 17, 200520 yr FSBuild or FOC (Flight Operation Center) are the best planners around. For VFR, the real-life planners Voyager and the AOPA Flight Planner are the best around IMHO.Hope this helps,Pat
December 17, 200520 yr I use RC4 as well.I now use FSBuild 2.2x because it will run without FS Running. I also use ActiveSky Ve loading the FSBuild exported FS9 plan into it. FSBuild can intereact with a running Active Sky creating a full NAVLOG that includes fuel requirements compensated for winds aloft. You also have the option of stating in minutes reserve, additional reserve, holding, and taxi estimated. The generated report will include the fuel requirements for each of the items above, the enroute requirements, and the total required.Besides exporting in FS9 format usable by RC and a number of gauges such as Reality-XP, it also exports in formats suitable for FMC aircraft input such as PMSDG 737NG and 747 products.FSBuild includes a database of SIDS (DPs) and STARS. When you build the plan the selected SIDS and STARS are expanded into the individual waypoints required for FS9 and other products. The database is updated from the fsbuild website or from navdata.at.Between the NAVLOG generated by ASVe (after loading your flightplan into it) showing winds aloft along your route and the NAVLOG generated by FSBuild, you pretty much have what an airline or charter dispatcher might create (with the exception of NOTAMS).You never use a sim flightplanner for real world flight, just for simming perhaps as a trial run. The data probably is out of date but close enough for simming. While I do a lot of personal and commercial GA simming, small regional turboprops and jets, I also sim the PMDG 737NG types. Knowing how to manipulate the aircraft for the current weather and to satisfy ATC routing and commands is a nice challenge. FSBuild 2.22, RC4, ASVe, AISmooth 112 freeware (smooths out clumping AI), and your selected aircraft in FS9 make for me a nice combination. I also have a full registered FSUIPC to get the additional control filters to smooth out control mapping and bumps.
December 17, 200520 yr if you plan to fly in europe check this site: http://www.euroutepro.com/euroute_module.htmThis one is my favorite flight planner of course it doesn
December 17, 200520 yr I recommend Super Flight Planner.100% FREEWAREGrab It Here:http://www.cpinf.info/web/products.phpRegards,Joe CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.

December 18, 200520 yr You can try FsNavigator for free. Try before you buy, cause I tried FSbuild and hated it and after trying FsNav, I have been using FS Nav for over a year now and love it. www.fsnavigator.com
December 19, 200520 yr SFP has some nice aspects to it. The data base export is handy. But for building flight plans, I actually still use FSBuild 1.4. scott s..
