Fantastic Freeware Scenery! Tokyo, Las Vegas and Hawaii!

Featured Replies

I wonder how many of you have this scenery? It is wonderful. It has been updated also. What scenery? Tokyo, Las Vegas and Hawaii by Shigeo Ishii. You'll need to get one of the cars or motorcycles to see all the detail.! Unbeleiveable!http://homepage3.nifty.com/jb/index.htmCheck these out! Top notch stuff! and great frame rates. I have PIII800, 512 DDR Ram, 5600XT/256, and Win98SE. Not a powerful machine by any standards. This guy is great! Thanks ShigeEarl

thanks for the link, I had an older version of vegas but it had a few problems with UT USA, do you happen to know if they are now compatible, as well as the hawaii with ut usa?

The Hawaii one was nice, but it was designed for the default coastlines, which are way off. Even before UT, the FSG Hawaii mesh also included fixed coastlines, which made the scenery unusaable. Also, it seems to ahve been designed as a very few objects with many parts, so it wasn't a case of just moving objects around a litle. Too bad.scott s..

Am I in the minority? I don't have UT or the FSG mesh. I'm probably wrong here, but I would venture a guess most simers do not have them. These sceneries fit perfectly with default terrain. They are really good! I hope more of you will try it and come back here and post your results. I sent Shige and email of thanks and a link to this thread. His response was that he didn't have UT but was considering getting it so he could update these 3. He plans to come out with another city soon, also. Thanks,EarlMerry Christmas!

I have UT USA but the Tokyo scenery does seem to look good. Are there instructions in English in the download?

They've been out a long time. Think I came across them over a year ago. Nice work back then but really hard on the frames.

Hi Victor,Yes, Shige puts a Readme in each one in English and Japanese. Here is a copy of the Hawaii Readme. They all install the same way. Tokyo is newest and is fantastic. Las Vegas is unbelieveable! Hawaii is great but he is planning to update it soon. Really easy to install:

I'm sorry to hear about your bad FPS rate form Shige's scenery. I have a PIII800, 512DDR Ram, 5600XT/256MVRam, Win 98SE machine. This scenery is very easy on frame rates on my computer. I wonder why it didn't work out on yours?. Try Tokyo again and see what happens. Easy to install and easy to delete. Merry Christmas everyone!Earl
