Anybody using vessels, floatplanes, helicopters.....in AI Traffic?

I use them...they look great in some of holger's scenery, such as columbia river gorge...of course, I did see a boat or two doing loop the loops in the sky over norfolk, VA...not sure what that was about...:-) but, I doubt these would have been holger's boats...his work is too good to allow for such goofiness...:-)Sherm

You need to make sure you have a proper, working AFCAD (check short hold nodes) and that the radius of the parking matches the AI radius. Check the flight plans for errors also. There are a lot of small variables that can keep AI from working at times. Can you give more info as to what you are trying to?Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

Michael,I downloaded from Avsim 2 files AI_FLOAT.ZIP and AI_Vessels.zip by Holger Sandmann. I unzipped them, they contain an AFCAD2 file, a traffic.bgl, effects and aircrafts (vessels and floatplanes).Followed the instructions to the letter. But I was unable to detect any AI traffic display. I decompiled and recompiled the traffic.bgl provided....but nothing appears.Would appreciate any help. If you can provide an alternative to those 2 files I mentioned, I would appreciate it.Thanks.Abe

As a quick test, try installing Victoria, BC (vicenh05.zip) (in this library). It has small boats, choppers, cruise ships which work perfectly, straight out of the box. Just follow the readme.

Hi Abe, haven't installed either of those, but try this, go to the area that AI is supposed to be at and while on the tarmac, hit CRTL + W and cycle thru the AI installed and see if they are there. Also make sure you traffic slider is all the way up, could be the culprit.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

One other thing to check. Go to Options and click on the Traffic item; insure that GA Traffic is selected. When I first attempted to get some boats moving about, I'd been flying airliners and had only Commercial Traffic selected. Turning on GA fixed the problem for me. R-EDIT: To correct typo. R-

Thanks to everybody for your responses, I am overwhelmed. I'll check on all your suggestions and come back and report to you. Thanks again.Abe

Another thing is that the times in the flight plan file are Mean Greenwitch....This works..... I have all installed and have no problems.

Hi again, guys, and Merry Christmas.I took jetlag's advice and installed Victoria, BC (vicenh05.zip). Again I followed the instructions to the letter. Still NO traffic.I noticed that the traffic.bgl's were to be installed in the Addon Scenery instead of the usual place Sceneryworldscenery. Is this correct?Would anybody tell me exactly what to do to display the Ai traffic in Victoria.I tried CTRL+W. I changed the time to the time in the flightplans. I even used Traffic View Board (which I use quite often) but none of the aircraft of Victoria AI flights were displayed.I had other AI traffic displayed all over.Again, I would appreciate any help, possibly detailed steps, so that I can see the Victoria traffic - helicopters, vessels..etc.Thanks.Abe

I also had some hard times getting AI traffic to display. However, my resolution was very simple. The ATC Traffic slidder was set down to 25%. Moved it up to 100% and voila!!!
