FMC ATC page simulated?

Featured Replies

I coulnd't find any reference about it in PMDGs introduction manual so it got me wondering.
Is there actually some functionallity behind the ATC page or is it just a dummy?

Perhaps there is a surprise waiting for us in SP1?

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

hmmm. To log on to vatsim you would need a ID and password; so just a 4-digit field is not enough. Would be cool though!

I can't talk to what they have implemented. But thats just the CPDLC login page.  But since I havent' seen anything from VATSIM or PMDG regarding CPDLC modelling I'm sure its just for show.

Kyle mentioned in another thread its not simulated. There's nowhere for the request to go.

I'd rather see ACARS over CPDLC.  Working with the ability to interact with ASN so you can call for performance and weather at whatever airport.  Forecast all at your fingertips rather than open another program up to look it all up.  CPDLC is cool if you have a working SELCAL.  You can use it without it, but its better with.  Without SELCAL you still have to listen to the controllers all the time.
