Pop up panels resizing for 747 V3 queen of the Skies

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if PMDG will be supplying a new panel.cfg for pop up panels similar to the the 737 and 777.

Everytime I view FMC or any other pop up panels they are 3 times the size. I know this is not an issue with a single monitor, but I am using 3 monitors using Nvidia.

I did receive new panel.cfg in the past from PMDG and they worked extremely well.

Cheers,

George Ingram

Hi,

When I resize the FMC for instance 1 time it is fine till I close the pop up. When I reopen the pop up the view is all distorted again and has to be resized.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

....to be honest, I am using three screens as well and that never bothered me.....So I never paid to much attention to it. I think they are defaulted to one size when poped up....Sorry couldn't help you....

We have provided alternate panel.cfg files for various aspect ratios, including 3 monitor setups. They can be found in

  SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 747-400\panel

Use either panel.cfg_3_x_16_9 or panel.cfg_3_x_16_10 depending on you monitors aspect ration.

(make a copy and rename to panel.cfg)

You could also try Panel Position utilities (freeware) that allow you to size and position any popup for movement to another screen.  You just get them the way you like, click store and then when you want to use, undock the panels, click Restore and boom, they are exactly sized and positioned on the correct screen.

Here is the link to the download.

Michael,

Thanks for this!  Are triple monitor configs available for the 777 as well?

Thanks,

Hi MarkW,
Where do I put the two downloaded files to execute them?
Thanks.

I think it saves in its own folder.  I just created a folder called Panel Position, places the program files and then it does everything else on its own.

I guess it depends on how exactly you set up those monitors, and what trickery, if any, does your VGA driver do for the multimonitor setup. some resolution/size/DPI combinations can make 2D panel system go haywire.
