Bomb Scares Get Flight Attendant Arrested

Featured Replies

One of the worst things you can do on-board an aircraft is make a bomb threat.  Even mentioning the word bomb could get you escorted of a plane.  So what would make a flight attendant cry wolf, not once but twice?  A need for attention perhaps?

Justin Cox-Sever who is 23 years old  is a Skywest flight attendant that faces accusations of creating bomb scares twice during 2015.  One incident saw the accused allegedly stuffing a bag full of towels and then reporting that the bag was beeping.

You'd think they would actually want to be on the plane going places rather than having it divert so they'd never get to their holiday destination.... unless it happens on the way back... ;) Actually in any case it's not a matter to joke about.

Speaking of airliner toilets.. and I digress a little... One of my daughter's young friends was amazed and horrified when I told him that there is no smoking on airliners and hasn't been for many years.(He's not been fortunate enough to travel by air anywhere yet). The conversation went something like this:

"I'll just light up in the toilet"

"Well, no you won't because there's smoke detectors which will go off. Not only that, but when they do, the airliner will divert to the nearest airport so you can be escorted off the plane. Oh and you might have 1-200 of your fellow passengers baying for your blood because they're not going to Barbados today."

"I'll just have to get drunk!"

"Well, actually the airline staff can refuse to let you on board if you're too lashed up!... and there's yet another risk of a diversion if you become too drunk and unruly whilst en route. More angry passengers etc." (Not sure if the last part is true, but I think he got the picture!)
