February 17, 20179 yr Hello all! I tried P3D for a while but I can't get it to run smooth without stutters so I completely reinstalled Windows 10 so all registry entrys are gone (boxed Fsx). Now I'm going for the Steam version. Let's see what the hype is about. But now I'm trying to install my Orbx packages and it can't find the folder. Same story for Aerosim 787... Can I change something in the registry so it will find my Steam folder? Or is it better to install steam in the default folder? I installed it directly on the C drive... Thanks in advance!
February 17, 20179 yr If the issue is with Orbx finding the Steam folder then try the Orbx Registry Fixer. It will allow you to verify and set the path for FSX:SE so that Orbx can find it. Ernie
February 17, 20179 yr I had to tell ORBX that I had FSX installed, not FSX:SE the first I ran their desktop client. After telling it that it was FSX, it found my Steam folder (which was in the default, Steam location) and there haven't been any future issues. - Mark Manacsa Most of the flight simulation community is pretty toxic and gets easily worked up about little things. Just go into it knowing that.
February 18, 20179 yr Author I tried everything... No luck... I'm tired of messing around with this ######. I'm going to install boxed and stick with it until a 64bit sim comes out. More time flying. Less time fooling around with these things! I wish I sticked with fsx boxed. Would have saved me A LOT of time
February 18, 20179 yr I tried everything... No luck... You sure you tried every thing, even posting your issue in the ftx forum? I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
February 18, 20179 yr Author It was not just Orbx but also other addons. I was a bit grumpy last night haha. Now everything is running like clockwork again! I think P3D is only for high end systems and intel/Nvidia. With my Amd system it was total drama
