March 11, 20179 yr I have encountered this error which crashes my FSX, any ideas on how to sort it? It only seems to happen when FSPassengers is active? Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3 Faulting module name: MsftEdit.dll_unloaded, version: 10.0.14393.206, time stamp: 0x57dacebd Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00259cf0 Faulting process id: 0x7cc Faulting application start time: 0x01d29037a784d0b6 Faulting application path: D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: MsftEdit.dll Report Id: bb523d27-67b8-4037-85d2-142896c6b4d9 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: My system is: 4690k OC 4.6GHz 8GB 1866MHz RAM GTX 1060 Running DX10 with fixes applied (don't tell me to turn it off because it throttles my fps to about 5) Also running Windows 10 64bit Addons: ORBX FTX Global FsPassengers PMDG 737 UK2000 Gatwick, Stansted GSX I experienced this crash whilst taxiing towards the runway. This doesn't happen when i am in "Compatibility mode for windows 7" but that also kills my fps to about 7, rendering the sim unplayable on a more than capable machine. Many thanks in advance, Matthew!

You should never put FSX into any compatibility mode. You must make sure, under the compatibility mode tab, that you are running FSX with Administrative Privileges for ALL users (may have to click on Advanced at bottom of tab). You will want to scan your system for corrupt or missing files using the sfc /scannow command - https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-scannow-to-repair-windows-system-files-2626161 The file that caused the crash is a system file so you need to make sure you are running FSX as an Administrator, UserAccessControls are disabled, and any anti-virus program like Windows Defender is exempted from scanning your FSX folder. Go to Windows Defender>Settings>Exclusions. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! March 12, 20179 yr fspassengers is rather unstable for me also, although it usually works at first and ends up crashing fsx like halfway through a 3 hour flight.. i would say maybe 50% of my flights with it end in a fsx crash. you might want to post your log over on their support forums also. i have noticed that it may be related to the popup window, if i leave that closed it seems more stable. frankly i kind of quit using it for now, i figure they will post an update sooner or later and i'll give it another shot then. cheers, -andy crosby
March 12, 20179 yr Author Thanks all, my FSX is not and hasn't been for a long time in compatibility mode. It is only in administrator mode for all users. I have added the directory to the exceptions list in windows defender but it looks like i'm going to have to find an alternative to FSPassengers X. Any suggestions that are compatible with all of the PMDG Aircraft?
