Smoke or wing vortex coming from the wing on the ground

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I have a very strange thing going with the 747 while its still on the ground (at the gate or on the runway).

As it looks in the picture (please see the link below), I have a strange smoke or wing vortex coming from the wing and falling downwards even when the plane is not moving:

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Shy

I don't think so.

It's like that as soon I start a new flight in FSX, without doing anything or pressing any buttons.
Moreover, I didn't changed any settings in the FMC prior to that. Its just like that from the first moment I've installed the PMDG 747.

Another thing, if you look closely at the 2nd screenshot, you can see a red triangle hanging from the tail, which I absolutely have no idea what it is. It also like that since I've installed the PMDG 747.

A lot of strange things happening with my sim :)

That thing on the tail is part of the boeing test flight kit, try checking what is enabled in the PMDG options

I will, Thank you for your response!

That certainly is in the correct location for it to be fuel dumping. Can you post a picture of your "FUEL" EICAS screen when you're seeing that effect?

Also, don't use a panel state saved before you updated. Use a default state to see if it still there.

Thank you for your suggestion, I'll check it as soon as I'll come home from work and post a screenshot of the EICAS/

Will do.

Thank you!

Hello,

if in this case the 'smoke' comming out of the wing is created by effect of fuel dumping then how to initiate that intentionally... ?

I tried to dump fuel during a flight and no 'smoke' effect on wings was visible... Is it modelled in v3 ?

Hi all,

I've just updated the 747 v3 and I'm happy to say that now everything is looking great!

No fuel jettison, no testing probes

Thank you all for your help!

Shy

Beautiful screenshots Captain Kevin
