July 22, 20178 yr Should the instrument panel lights and cockpit lights be dimmable? The rotary knobs suggest that they should be dimmable, but I have no idea what the real aircraft has. Thanks! Jason Springer (p3dv5.2, MSFS 2020)
July 22, 20178 yr They should be working rheostats but I guess because of the shear number of them, at least a dozen, they elected to keep it simple and provide on/off function. We complained during beta after they nearly burned our retinas out and toned down the brightness to what most of us agreed was a good compromise between night VMC and hard IMC flying settings. July 22, 20178 yr Personall, I'd prefer one dimmable panel light over three different panel lights with the same intensity.. I mean, who will leave one or two lights off anyway and fly with only the captains side illuminated? Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
July 22, 20178 yr Commercial Member I thought it was more a function of the lighting implementation, and the limitations thereof. You'll note that there are dimmable lights in the 737, 777, and 747. Kyle Rodgers
