Adding static aircraft

Featured Replies

Is there a way to add static aircraft to v4 at airports?  I fly online and hate flying into empty airports. I know AI is tough when online because it interferes with atc. Some payware has static as an option but I wasn't sure if there is something to add static aircraft across the board.

UT2 you can disable the ai on approach by the menu key.

I use it with vatsim and have no issues , i clear the traffic if i need to

So you are saying that you fly in Vatsim, disable the AI on approach, and you can fly into airports that aren't ghost towns?  That would be ideal for me if that is the case and the planes on the ground don't interfere with anything.

Correct.  I've 15000+ hours on vatsim I and do exactly that

Does this work in P3Dv4?  Is it pretty much plug and play or is there a bunch of backend stuff that needs to be done?

About 10 secs,  then you can hit the clear approach button again

Another option is Air Hauler. You can have it display your company's fleet, so if you've parked an aircraft somewhere in the sim, unless one of your AI company crews are flying it (in which case you'll see it taxy out and make that flight) you would see it at the stand where you left it.

WAMA is probably the most flexible way of course (can be quite time consuming, though it's fun too), but be aware that if you park up a lot of fancy add-on aeroplanes, it will impact on VAS quite considerably unless you choose the option to make them unflyable.

I just went to Lorby's site. Pretty comprehensive piece of software.

Really like the static ac component of this. I think I'll give it a try.
