March 1, 200620 yr Indeed, very nice modelling work. Everything what cost more than 15$ should be up to those standards long time ago.I don't think I'll buy this aircraft, because it's too close to FSX release, but I am happy they raise the bar to professional level (unless they will charge 100$ for it, then they can... you know what ;))
March 1, 200620 yr CS will be selling the 757 using the "Block System" where you purchase only what you want. When I purchased the entire C-130 it was approx. $ 50 US. THE BLOCKS:The '757-200 Captain' Sim will feature the following Blocks:Block A - Highly detailed Exterior Model PreivewBlock B - Exterior Model and VC PreivewBlock C - ACE (Aircraft Configuration Editor) utilityBlock D - Custom Flight ModelBlock E - Custom Sound Set (RR+PW)Block F - Advanced Systems ProgrammingBuying the Blocks as they are released you can easily upgrade to the 'Pro Line' full package.Craig
March 1, 200620 yr >Yes I thought that too. I was also going to say how roomy it>looked in there, behind the captain's seat - compared to the>LDS 767 office. I'm assuming they're the same size.>>Anyway, what do I know. And as I'm definitely not interested>in yet another bloody Boeing it's all rather academic. But the>shots are definitely stunning, they really are.>>IanThe 757 cockpit is actually much smaller than the 767, but the thing I wonder is if they will model the "step" down from the cabin floor. The 757 cockpit is 1 step down from the cabin foor and the 767 Cockpit is one step up...I am definately looking forward to this bird. :-eek Dan
March 1, 200620 yr >In one of the Vcabin shots, does anyone know what the Russian>caption on the poster with the white rabbit means? I'm curious>cuz Captain Sim is always good with details. Thanks!I don't speak Russian, but can read cyrillics. It seems it says 'razvodite krolikov', whateve that means? :)http://www.fspassengers.com/images/banner/sig/sdc8.jpg
March 1, 200620 yr >>I can't wait to fly this bird>>http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0995970/L/>>>Alas, it seems that nobody is bothering to model that older RR engine type. All the previous of the CS and PSS models sofar show only the newr RRs and PWs. Either way, I am looking forward to the CS 757. Their 727 is one of my all time favorites.
March 1, 200620 yr Well, CS is 2 for 2 now. Perfect Exterior and Interior model. Now all they need to do is perfect blocks D, E, and F.
March 1, 200620 yr >Well, CS is 2 for 2 now. Perfect Exterior and Interior model.>Now all they need to do is perfect blocks D, E, and F. Well, I wouldn't say 2 for 2, as the interior has a lot of 'special (useless) touches" that impact performance. Their gauges refresh slow ( as shown in the video... when they try to blame it on recording software yet the scenery moves fairly smoothly.... it's their method of programming the gauges and not recording software. That being said, they have always produced outstanding EXTERIOR models and interior eye candy. Unfortunately, for me ( and many others ), these mean little... I mean, I wouldn't want an UGLY exterior model or an UGLY virtual cockpit, but I'd rather have a good flight model ( 727 / 707 anyone? ), smooth refresh rates on the gauges themselves ( and it CAN be done, within reason ), and of course, ALL systems modelled, not just a choice few.For these reasons, I'll stick with Level-D. They offer the best of all of it. I will admit though that the CS 757 VC does LOOK very appealing, but lack the other things I mentioned above. As far as someone trying to tell me how similar the 757 / 767 cockpits are, I know they are very similar, but there are very distinct differences ( such as hydraulic demand pumps, pack configuration, isolation valves, etc ) and CS even admitted they messed up on their forum, and furthermore said they won't be fixed until Block F.
March 1, 200620 yr With the fact that both aircraft have the common rating requirement, and therefore crews can cross over between both types, I have heard stories from pilots about tripping on that step, when one is used to either a step-up or step-down and the opposite is encountered. The other interesting fact is that I believe the door opens inwards for one type, and outwards for the other (on the B76 the door is on the left side, on the B75 it is centered). One very funny story I recall reading involved a crew member going to the toilet, then signalling the remaining pilot to unlock the door when he was done. The pilot outside of the door kept trying to move it in one direction to open it, but in this case it opened in the opposite directon becuase of the 75/76 differences. The guy actually ended up banging loudly on the door and yelling. I'm not sure how it all ended, as I'm sure that the one remaining pilot could not leave his seat if only for a second to open it- maybe a FA heard it and came to open it. It was a long time ago that I read this.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
March 1, 200620 yr Commercial Member Goes to show you how realistic it is when they model the wrong engines in the FMC. Check out the 2D panel previews, and click on the one with the FMC pic. Notice how they have modeled the wrong RB211 engine, the 757 uses RB211-535s.
March 1, 200620 yr Yes, the 524 powers the 747-400 and is interchangeable with the 767 according to Rolls Roycehttp://www.rolls-royce.com/civil_aerospace...524/default.jspTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif
March 2, 200620 yr Get a life guys. This is a " Simulator/Game.. if you don't like it then don't buy it. Leave a little for those of us who don't expect perfection. Ever see the original Link Trainer??? CE
March 2, 200620 yr i had horrible performance on the cs-130 on my system. i wonder how the 757 performs.regards, tom.
March 2, 200620 yr "i had horrible performance on the cs-130 on my system. i wonder how the 757 performs."probably the same if not worse since it seems to have more textures and digital gauges than the c-130."Well, I wouldn't say 2 for 2, as the interior has a lot of 'special (useless) touches" that impact performance."well, the PMDG 747-400 VC has alot of the similar animations but has about the same performance as the LDS 767 VC, so i dont expect the CS 757 to be much worse. All im worried about is blocks D and F. If those will be as good as the interior/exterior then CS will have a perfect product. (and a good sound package wouldn't hurt either) But thats just my opinion, yours could be different, im not willing to argue which developer is better or wether the CS 757 sucks or not.Nick
