February 28, 200620 yr Looks very nice & promising. However, I think I'll wait for Level-D's 757 tocome out. I've played with CaptainSim AC before and wasn't too impressed. Just my opinon.BTW, Mr. Jeff Greth, the cockpits for the 767 & 757 are virtually identical. Matter-a-fact, in real life, they are the same type ratings. A 757 pilot can fly a 767 plane and visversa. YOur post seems to indicate you were expecting some other type of cockpit. Or maybe I misunderstood.-=MAB=- Mike Brown
February 28, 200620 yr :-eek That is simply awesome. The Level-D VC looks like a perfect flight model in comparison. Wow.........
February 28, 200620 yr One thing I like about CS's way they do cockpits is they look lived in and the parts/materials have some life to them.Alot of others are just to sterile for me. Guess thats why I like the c-130 and other older types. Some look right off the assembly line spotless clean and I never forget Im flying a sim.Cockpit looks like someone used a gallon of armor all on it.I know,I know, the 767,777 ect are new and taken well care off. Well put 2 or 3 guys crammed together up front with the plane flying back to back 6 hour flights with little or no down time and it doesnt take long to get rid of that new car smell.
February 28, 200620 yr Don't forget that it's gonna be CS 1st plane with FMC. It might takes months or years to make their 757 fly as it should. So my choice - LDS, unless the miracle happens with CS.
February 28, 200620 yr Hmm,...I never though I would say this about a CS title,...But those pictures looks quite impressive. ;-)However, the main thing I am interested in, is how the 2D panel looks like. :-hahhttp://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gifMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/3.0 Ghz1024 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory (2x256,1x512)256 Mb ATI Radeon X850 ProOmega 6.01DirectX 9.0cW XP Home with SP1E171FPb Flat panel monitor 17"240Gb (2x120) 7200rpm HD Staffan
February 28, 200620 yr This one does look interesting. We will have to see how it flys, and how accurate the fmc will be :-) Brent Lewis
March 1, 200620 yr However, the main thing I am interested in, is how the 2D panel looks like.If visuals are secondary, I doubt CS can beat LDS in terms of systems... But visually speaking, this beats the crap out of the 767. However, considering how secretive LDS has been about their 757, we might just be in for a surprise (or maybe none at all). March 1, 200620 yr In one of the Vcabin shots, does anyone know what the Russian caption on the poster with the white rabbit means? I'm curious cuz Captain Sim is always good with details. Thanks!
March 1, 200620 yr I only have one CS product...the 707. It looks great and sounds pretty good too. However the system bugs drive me nuts, like flying an old rental plane that hasn't had any maintenance. If they ever deliver the patch they mentioned last year, I might consider purchasing another plane from them. March 1, 200620 yr Give me a break with these comments. They do an outstanding job. No one looking at those shots can do anything but admire the handiwork. And it translates to the plane of course. I have always enjoyed their 727 with the beautiful panels, etc. Go to it Capt Sim. I stated I would buy no further addons until FSX. You've made me a liar Capt Sim. I'll be in line with credit card in hand for this one.
March 1, 200620 yr to each his/her own. personally I think DHLs new and old colors are awesome. I piloted the posky 757 many of times in DHL liveries, and UPS as well. Even some runs in Iceland Air Cargo. I love the 57 and cannot wait. Its too bad, though, that these 2 companies cant work together to make a perfect product. Captain sim can supply the visuals, LDS the panel and systems
March 1, 200620 yr Holy COW! There are so many Flight Sim firsts depicted in those videos that I lost count! I appears that they modeled every actuator, bolt, nut and carpet fiber on the darned thing. Heck I didn't know that half of the things shown were even possible in MSFS. Will wonder's never cease? There can be no denying that the visual model 'bar' has not just been raised, they strapped rockets to the 'bar' and sent the thing into orbit!!!Now the true question is if the avionics match the massive level of visual accuracy portrayed in the videos and screenshots of the model. I think that expectations will run extremely high from all the developers preparing to release the 75.Personally, I'm closely watching this one. There has never been a high fidelity 757 for MSFS and now with PSS, LDS and CS all shooting at the same target I'm in hog heaven since the 75 is one of my favorite aircraft. With both the 752 and 753 on final approach from muliple directions my 4 weeks of vacation this year may well be spent in the flight deck of a shiny new 757!I can't WAIT to see what LDS have up their sleeves now, as well as updated PSS screenshots (which are shaping up mighty well I might add.)
March 1, 200620 yr They are starting to get that "Ariane" look feel, the super-detailed interiors, etc, looking at the screenshots. Is the graphic demand that this offering will no-doubt entail on your system really worth having the cabin and restroom modelled? I like looking at the panel, out the windscreen, and of course enjoy the spot plane views all of the time. But I just don't find it necessary to risk the system demand for all of this rarley used internal eyecandy. What does the whole package cost, anyway, $100??? More than FSX itself? Hmm...I'm still waiting for someone to break the three digit cost barrier for payware aircraft, and I can hardly wait to hear the justifications for it all. Hold on to your hats. In the meantime, I'm concentrating on flying that VOR/DME approach.http://www.graphics-free.com/animations/tr...ges/plane_6.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
