September 3, 20178 yr It will be interesting to see what happens when the slew of Windows VR headsets are released. Their resolution isn't much of an improvement but a lot of the big gun hardware manufacturers are releasing models at competitive prices.

September 4, 20178 yr Commercial Member Looks like competition is heating up a bit. With the summer sale, the reduction in price by HTC to $600, and new entrants, I could see a solid base price of $400 US next year for major platforms. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
September 5, 20178 yr I'm glad that the Rift has caught up somewhat. Competition (and sales) in this sector is much needed if we are to see advances in the coming years. The addition of room scale VR and touch controllers combined with the price cut make the Rift a great choice. I am glad I went with it over the Vive which was once my preferred option. I couldn't justify paying the extra for the Vive.
